Keydisk

A Keydisk is usually the original distribution disk that includes a keyfile that contains encryption key that allows copy protected programs to run on the users' machines. The early AGI games employed CPC protection that stored the key file in a simulated 'bad' track that MS-DOS would ignore, effectively hiding the key file. The CPC protection required the presence of the keydisk to launch the game. If the file was not found the game would warn that they keydisk is required.
