They changed it again, huh? Man... I just want to see how the story ends at this point. They've done a great job of crafting a whole new Greek myth for us to play around with. And what they do with the boss battles is just amazing.

Yeah last I hear they won't release it until March...I thought this third one might be the last too..but then I was talkking with someone who said it's too much of a cash cow for it to be over and I think that is true so they will probably come up with a way to make more of them...I hope!..:)..It's my favorite game and probably alwasy will be...I got a real soft spot for it..:)

The creator said it was meant to be a trilogy, but I can see them making spin-offs and prequels all over the place after it's done.

There we go! Finished "God of War 3!" And my mind is still blown.

The scale of the game is phenomenal and some of these battles are ten times bigger than anything I've seen in a video game before. The opening action sequence alone features Kratos caught in a battle between a God and a Titan. I'm glad the controls are so much easier now too, because I was so glued to what was going on around me that I wasn't even paying attention to what I was doing.

And the story was so good too. The whole trilogy in general seems like the ultimate unwritten closing act to all of Greek mythology. Heck, I don't know who's in charge of that stuff, but someone should make it official.

If I may, and please don't take offense, I've only played the first game and... mythologically speaking, it was simply dreadful! ;) It was full of inconsistencies (names, facts, degrees of kinship) and, in general, the feeling was that of a huge hodge-podge concocted by someone who thinks that Troy is faithful to Homer's poem.

It was a really fun game, though.

I don't think they're going for "accurate" when they made this. There's a game, that was pretty much X360's "answer" to "God of War" called Viking : Battle for Asgard that is full of similar issues (names, relations, etc). But the game was mind blowingly fun (more so than ... I will be hanged for this - God of War - in my eyes). And I love Norse just a hair above Greek Mythos. But to me, Viking was a lot more fun. (Sadly, it didn't even come CLOSE to God of War's worse sales).

So I think, just as with so many things, they simply borrowed from the Greek Mythos and came up with their own (version of a) Greek Mythos Style of story.

Oh, I agree. They don't have to be accurate, and if the game is fun, everything's fine. I was responding to Datadog, when he said:

Even I (hope I) know that he was joking

Joking? No way! I want Kratos to be what really happened to everybody back then and I am willing to rewrite whatever discrepancies are in the actual mythology to make it happen. ;)

I played the demo recently after buying a PS3 for the first time. I loved the demo. So I bought the first two games remastered for the PS3 and GOW3 in one go. Can't wait to play through them.
