I'm definitely a comic book geek. I know way too much about DC and Marvel (probably more about DC, however). I started reading them in 1992 and still do occasionally. Nowadays I get graphic novels from the library as they cost too much and don't provide much reading material.

One series I really like (and I got Maia somewhat addicted to as well) is Fables. If you haven't checked it out, I'd suggest you do. They're making a TV show based on the comic, but for some odd reason, I have a feeling they'll change it so much that it'll suck.

That's because you're always such a beacon of positive energy and hope, my friend.

Are you suggesting I'm pessimistic?

Not in the least! Trust me, considering how pessimistic I am... it'd take a lot for me to find someone else more so! :D

Oh yeah! I'm a terrible collector of a lot of things, but as comic books started from an early age I'd definitely say that that is taking over the house most. (well, along with my collection of CD-Is, VHSs, games, dictionaries, language courses, musical instruments, music...) I'm an avid Donald Duck fan.

What's your next shipment from B&N, dotkel? :)

I guess I'm a book geek in a different way. I don't wait for shipments... I go out and look for books. ;) I'm a member of three different libraries, with about five branches each, and I always have reservations for books by wonderful but relatively obscure authors (so it takes weeks for my books to arrive, but when they do - ohboyohboy!) ;) :D

I also frequent the better-known bookshops (Borders, Angus & Robertson etc.) as well as the second-hand bookshops and rare bookshops, and from time to time I scoop a bargain, a rare book, or - best of all - an old and interesting book. :) I now own a first-edition Agatha Christie book (from 1935) and a first-edition Douglas Adams (from 1979), which I picked up for a few dollars each. ;)

(Oh, and of course, I anxiously await any new Terry Pratchett offering!) ;)

Then you must be a Carl Barks fan.

The Mysterious Cape Cod Manuscript by Marie Lee

and 1 Alternate History: The Sunrise Lands by Harry Turtledove (I love all his books)
