KQ6 no wedding music

Hi folks, a very frustrating problem for me with KQ6. No matter what I try I CANNOT get the wedding music to start when I am in the castle. I've read some spoilers and hints regarding returning to the Treasure Room for 5 or 10 minutes or more but this hasn't helped. I've also wandered around the corridors endlessly but still with no joy. I eventually looked through a couple of walkthroughs to see if I had done everything required and it appears I have but I'm still stuck and unable to end the game. Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Ian.
BTW I'm running the King's Quest Collection (1994 I think)

Are you using Collector's installer for the game? I believe he has one for KQ6?

Because then you can run the diag tool - and post it - and he'd be able to tell if something's amiss.

It doesn't look like he having technical problems but is in need of a hint to trigger the next event. Which path did you play?

Played the long path. Like I said I've read through some walkthrough's and I've done everything I need to have done by this stage but the wedding music still doesn't start so every time I go upstairs I get thrown in the dungeon! The only time the music actually plays is when I've been thrown into the dungeon for the third time (no Jollo or skeleton key to rescue me!) and the game ends.

Did you make friends with Jollo at the beginning of the game?

Yes and I called on him in his room in the castle and gave him the lamp.

It is probably something that you have missed, but it has been so long since I have played it that I am not sure what it might be. Perhaps you need to inspect everything in the treasury room. Did you speak to Cassima? Did you give her anything?

Inspected everything in the Treasure Room - also spoke to Cassima and gave her the knife and showed her the Vizier's letter.

Try looking through another walkthrough to see if you missed anything. How are you playing this? Did you use the installer from here?

The main thing that's supposed to trigger the wedding music is the revelation that the vizier has conspired to pit the islands against each other. When you inspected all the items in the treasury room, did you get the dialogue that stated that Alexander realized what the vizier was up to?

Yes I'd peered through the hole in the wall and heard his monologue - I also entered his room and took the letter which I also showed to Cassima. I'm baffled!
