User-Created Adventure Games

Post by DeadPoolX » Sat Dec 27, 2008 12:19 pm

My brother recently sent me a link to a website (blog?) called Independant Gaming. It's pretty neat since on the page there are quite a few Adventure Games made by fans of the genre. They're created using Adventure Game Studio and considering the limitations of that program, some of the games don't look too bad.

Oh, yeah - there's a bunch of good ones out there. I especially like Yahtzee's "Days" series. I gotta get around to playing more of these in the future.

If you stumble upon anything Sierra-like, please tell me. Pretty much every amateur adventure I tried (except from Akril's one, of course) was heavily inspired by Lucas, and I don't completely like their atmosphere and so on... ;)

There was A Tale of Two Kingdoms that was supposed to be Sierra inspired.

I thought A Winter Rose was pretty Sierra-like, and Knightsquire was very, very similar to the Gobliiins series. Aside from that, I haven't played many of the other games on that list. I wonder why they haven't done a 2007 or 2008 list of freeware adventures.
