Starting GK1 - no narration Day 1

Hey Collector,

Have a weird GK1 issue. I"m replaying it for the first time in years, and I noticed that the neither the text or narration for Day 1 appears. What I'm referring to is the "I dreamt of blood upon the shore..." stuff. The screen shows Day 1, and then the paper boy arrives and Grace enters the bookshop. Like that file is missing.

I used your CD installer so I wonder if it just missed something. Attached is the diagnostic log from your installer. Any help is appreciated!

The reason that the text is missing is that there are a couple of script patch files missing. I omitted them since they also cause the game to crash at the clock puzzle. If you copy the two files in the attached ZIP to the game, it will restore it. However, you will probably need to remove them before you go to Granny's attic to do the clock puzzle.

Thanks! Does that patch handle ALL of the Day narrations, or just Day 1?

Also, is there anything I can do to make the opening intro sequence a little bigger? See the attached JPG. No big deal if you cant, was just curious if you could.

I would suspect so, but I can't say if it does or not. As to the video size, it may help to change the driver to VGA, but the graphics will be degraded over that from the VESA driver.
