loderunner the legend returns installer

Post by loderunner » Wed Jun 19, 2013 8:43 pm

Hi there,
Im trying to install loderunner the legend returns ( on win7 64bit) using the new installer. Sadly after the successful installation the installer somehow upgraded it to madmonksrevenge.
Any idea what I did wrong or is the installer bugged?

Yes, it does upgrade it to Mad Monk because Returns is a 16-bit, Windows only game. This makes it unplayable on 64-bit Windows. Mad Monk is a 32 bit game, so is playable on 64-bit Windows. If you really want to play Returns, you will need to setup an emulator with Win3x or Win9x installed in it. You could then just use the original installer.

thx for the quick response. Would have loved to play it natively.
I have another question somehow connected to it: the legend returns has this awesome midi soundtrack (that's why I want to play tlr; nostalgia!). The midis playback/converting were bugged using a soundfont (aka wrong instruments or pitch etc.) ; in windows media player classic the midis play just fine. Any idea on this issue?

I am not sure what you mean. Load Runner On-Line uses CDA tracks for music.

Since the installer upgrades to On-Line, it should not use the MIDI.

Well first thing's first. You do realize, Collector does this on his own free time? This isn't a job? He doesn't get paid? As a matter of fact, he PAYS for this site to stay up and running every single month. So how about taking a deep breath and calming down?

I don't have Loderunner myself, so I can't test Collector's installer. But if it has a Diagnostic Tool like most of his other installers - try running that and attaching the file to this thread. If it doesn't have the Diagnostic tool, then patiently wait until Collector comes onto the forum and sees this thread.
