Unzip this into the game's folder, run it and post the results here. It will allow me to analyze your installation to check for things like missing files, misconfigurations, etc.

Here's the path, and I promise you I didn't add the apostrophe in, I didn't even think they could exist in file names:

C:\GOG Games\Kings Quest 4-5-6\King's Quest 6

I am not trying to be antagonistic or anything, but the diagnostic will tell me other things, like if there are any missing files, etc. It is just the same tool that I include with all of my installers that usually gives me all of the information that I need to troubleshoot issues.

it doesn't recognize that DOSBox is installed since its not in the original spot. I've reinstalled KQ6 in the last couple days and it now comes with .74 automatically. So how can I tell it where DOSBox is?

Don't worry about DOSBox. The GOG collection is using DOSBox as a subfolder in the collections folder. The diagnostic was not designed for GOG, so will have some missing information. It should give me all of the information inside the game's folder, which is what I need. Just run the tool in the game's folder and attach the generated log here.

You ran it from your desktop. Move the two files to the installed KQ6 folder and run it from there.

There are a lot of files in there that don't need to be there, but it does not look like anything is missing. Extract the three files inside of the attached zip into:

C:\GOG Games\Kings Quest 4-5-6\King's Quest 6

Start the game with the new shortcut in the game's folder.

ok, will do, I thought I'd let you know too that on another friend's suggestion, I started the game and let it sit to see if it would crash. After an hour on the same screen, it didn't crash, I finally turned it off since by that point it usually has crashed twice if not three times

If you had extracted the zip that I attached, the log would not say that the log was not found. You did place the extracted files inside the KQ6 folder and NOT the collection's folder, didn't you?
