Agreed. The main reason that DOSBox seems to have better sound is probably more due to the audio settings in the ScummVM GUI are spread across different tabs with some overriding others, making it a bit confusing and more of a matter of trial and error. They now use DOSBox's AdLib code, but somehow it sounds better in DOSBox. I think that it is not so much a matter that is truly is inferior, but it is so easy to have other settings that interfere. I have seen scummvm.ini files so conflicted that it was easier to pitch the entire ini and start over.MusicallyInspired wrote:Their gui is a bit of a mess when it comes to engine specific settings.
As for the idiots that think that ScummVM sounds so much better, it is probably almost always a matter that they never setup the sound in the game itself in DOSBox. If it is a Sierra floppy game, that probably means that they are getting MT-32 music played through AdLib.
