GK3 - Laptop Problem

Post by Luinath » Thu Mar 21, 2013 3:01 am

Hello,

I noticed that there was a couple of problems when using the laptop, which was already discussed a few years ago, but I can't seem to find a way to fix the first problem.

1. When you're checking your e-mail in the laptop as Grace, it doesn't allow me to read the messages. I've tried using the solution suggested at GOG, but it has no effect. I used a smaller resolution, as well as changed the 3d driver to software renderer, but no dice. Is there any other methods to checking your messages?

2. Not as problematic as the first one, but when using the laptop with a resolution higher than 800x600, the frame around the laptop is all awkward looking. Is there anyway to fix this for someone using a higher resolution e.g., 1920x1080?

No, the graphics were made for the lower resolution. It is a disruption in the game play, but you can lower the resolution for the scene and then raise it back after the scene.

I've tried using a resolution compatible with the game, but the box showing the e-mails I got don't appear at all. If I have the resolution at 1920x1080 (my native resolution), I can see the box showing the messages at the bottom, but it is being covered by the bottom frame of the laptop, and I can't use my mouse to check the messages, but I can scroll up and down with the keyboard only. Can you use the keyboard to check your e-mail?

Using a smaller resolution does fix the problem with the frame around the laptop, as well as the cutscenes that are played in the game.
