QFG4 Townspeople

Post by stuntology » Fri Jan 25, 2013 6:59 pm

So I've just started to get the plot rolling in QFG4, at the part where Igor goes missing. I have to say, the voice actors for the townspeople are absolutely hilarious! They really spice up the text boxes, adding so many ridiculous references. I haven't laughed this hard at a game before!

It's one of my favorites. It is good that you got the CD version. Not only does it have fewer problems, The voices are wonderful. John Rhys-Davies is perfect.

Agreed, stuntology! The voice acting and soundtrack also add to the character. Love it!!

Absolutely true. One of my favorite Sierra narrator, even if I'm not of the game as much as other people.

Still, enjoy every moment of it, stunt!

John Rhys-Davies as narrator
Even with his voice though, whenever I was really stuck I did get bored of him saying "That didn't do anything".

Heh. The townspeople in QfG4 are fun. ;) Just wait until they discuss the elephants...

"Yeah! Let's fry up the gypsy! We'll have a barbecue!"
"Pooooooooor Igor."

...and so on. ;)

My favourite narrator moment so far is when using the thief sign on the Rusalka. His extremely exaggerated suggestive tone is hilarious.

Back in the day when I started playing QfG4*, one of the oft-repeated John Rhys-Daviesisms that stuck in my mind was:
John Rhys-Davies wrote:You are getting tired.
Oddly enough, I started hearing that one when I was exhausted and ready to go to sleep**. ;)

So what are some lines from QfG4 that stuck in your head, hmm? ;)

* I think it might have been 1997 or thereabouts...?? Has it really been that long???

** ...along with Ad Avis saying "How nice of you to come" and Baba Yaga talking about Eye Scream. :P

Hmmm... Igor's "a little graveyard humor there" stuck in my mind. :)

I always got a kick out of throwing a rock through the ring in the guild. The narrator would say, "You throw a rock through the ring. Weeeeee." :P

Mine has to be "You pick up a handful of rocks" from whenever i try the hand icon on a screen and there isn't a response for it.

Whoops, I forgot to check this thread... what ring? Which guild - the adventurers' guild or the thieves' guild? *curious* I've never seen that...

The ring on the ceiling in the adventurers guild that you use with the grapnel and hook to beef up your muscles. ^_^
