Lord of the Rings: War in the North - help, please?

Post by Rath Darkblade » Mon Jul 09, 2012 11:05 pm

Well, I sat through most of this game until I got to the Big Bad's Fortress (about level 8, I think). At this point, the game seems to break down... if I remember correctly (and I last played this game two months ago, so please bear with me), when I enter the Fortress (through a dungeon of some sort), there's suddenly all kinds of electrical disturbances, and a few moments later the game decides to CTD. :x

Any ideas what I can do to get past that point? IIRC, it would always CTD at that point. It's a fun game, but this error would always ruin it for me.

I'm running it on Windows 7 Home Premium, btw... I can give other stats (processor speed etc. if needed). :)

Thanks! :D

I have it on X360. But have you tried on their official forums too to see if anyone had a similar issue?

These occur in the game, I mean. The graphics go haywire... the light in the fortress (electric or not) blinks on and off, with appropriate sounds; however, the colours on my character go haywire (for instance, the shield suddenly turns bright green etc.)

With the exception of the sounds, I'd say that seems like a video card issue. It could be drivers, although probably not. Check to see if your video card is overheating; if it's not, then the situation might be worse and it could be failing completely.

I remember Maia had some serious video card issues a few years back. Fortunately, her PC was still under warranty, so she was able to get a replacement card (which actually turned out to be a bit better than her original).
