Oh... and is there an easy way to ALT-TAB out of it? Otherwise I can't record without exiting and restarting the game all the time.

NO, Alt+Tab does not work. Windowize it and you can get access to your desktop. If you maximize the game again you may have to go back into the graphics options to reset the graphics.
