Multiplayer QFG1

Post by Construed » Mon Apr 09, 2012 2:19 am

Hi, My name is jared aka construed.
Me and a few friends have created a multiplayer version of QFG1,
It's about 60% complete and were in search of other people obsessed with QFG to play and talk with us about QFG.
I am one of the most obsessed QFG fans i know and love to talk about and make QFG style games.
If you or anyone you know might be interested in such a thing please check us out at:
http://www.questformoreglory.com/forums ... wforum=196
Or
http://gamersplanet.tk

We need general users beta testers and every other type of person interested!
Even if you don't have any computer related skills it would be great just to see you online in our game and quicken our development process!

Thanks a mill,
-Jared

I have not had the chance to swing by and check out the multiplayer... but is it like Saren.net's "multiplayer" of various Sierra games? Is that how it works?

Nope, It's more true to the original game, However it also requires me to rebuild the entire game from scratch. Its basically like QFG1 with the QFG3 Gui and the ability to play with 40 people simultaneously. ;)

Thanks :)
I've put alot of work into it.
I spent several years researching game engines until i found the perfect one and a few more years learning to incorporate multiplayer into it.
Then when I finally got started on the game design I've spent about 3 month's of obsessively long 18-24 hour days implementing what we have so far.
Only in the past month has development slowed due to a seemingly overwhelming lack of interest by most people on earth. :(
But it seems to slowly be getting better, who knows... I might actually go into a dev frenzy again soon :D

Rest assured, that's how it always seems to go. Interest will wax and wane; sometimes it just rejuvenates itself, sometimes it requires finding new people.

I am in desperate need for beta testers and artists, So if your a real QFG fan like me please come over to my forums, show some interest and help me out.

http://Gamersplanet.tk

Most people want me stop this project or say I can't do it.
I know i can, but the depression of all the negative reactions are starting to make me feel hated.

I really need some support badly :(

Thanks, Jar

Hey, I'd be glad to help Beta Test - but my time is very limited.

What I will say is "Eff everyone else." Anyone who is negative, brush'em off and ignore'em, get rid of'em, etc. You don't need that. Do it because YOU want to do it. Not because of someone else's reaction. If you don't do it because YOU want to do it, then you will never enjoy yourself. Someone's got something negative to say - ignore it. Whether it's jealousy or simple internet trolling, it's not worth your time. Do your project at your speed and enjoy yourself.

Thanks my friend,
Perhaps the most solid and influential advice I've received thus far.
It would be great If you could do some beta testing, Hit me up on AIM USERNAME: GrimReapYou or send me a pm on my forums.

Thanks,
-Jar
