AGS Awards 2011

AGS is running its annual awards nominations and there's a few noteworthy games worthy voting for this year. Naturally, there's AGDI's KQ3+ in the running. Gotta get some Sierra love in there. Also, our own Akril's game "Adventure: All in the Game" is up there. You might want to throw your weight behind that. And then there's also something about Vohaul and questing and space...

Yeah, I'll stop beating around the bush. "Space Quest: Vohaul Strikes Back". Go nominate it for everything please. Do it for Rodney, and Gofty, and Odster, and all the little penguins. And then join us next year when SQInc's Doomtron aims for 2012's Best Supporting Actor.

Where's SQ2?

I voted a couple of days ago, and I was sure to cast my vote for VSB.

As for SQ2VGA, I had a look for it in the AGS game database, and found out that was added on January 3rd -- three days too late for it to qualify as a 2011 game.

Well, the initial voting is over, and now it's time to vote for 1 out of 5 games in each category. VSB and the KQ3 remake are up for multiple nominations, so be sure to make your votes count.


(And oh my gosh...All in the Game actually got nominated for something!? *ecstatic face*)

"All in the Game" got in for Best Animation; my vote has already been cast because that game deserves it.

But totally vote for everyone else too. Marty's backgrounds, Fred's music, etc. Plus, VSB's got so many supporting characters, one of them HAS to be the best!

Okay, so here's the full list of winners! Clearly, I should be playing "Gemini Rue".

"Vohaul Strikes Back" DID win for Best NPC Character, though! And while the game has a ton of NPC characters to choose from, I'd like to think Rodney the Redneck Orangutan is the real winner here.

And lastly, but certainly not leastly... our own Akril is now the best animator of the year! Whoo! Congratulations, Akril!

I was downright floored when my game got announced. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me!

This was also my very first attendance of a live AGS Awards ceremony, though I'm doubtful that any future ceremonies will be able to top this one.
