Steam Multiplayer/Co-op gaming

Post by DeadPoolX » Tue Jan 03, 2012 4:59 pm

There are a number of us here who have Steam and also own some good multiplayer/co-op games. Some of these games are FREE as well, which makes it easy since no one has to feel like they wasted money if they don't like the game later on.

I'd like to to see if we could get a group going. Probably the easiest game to organize for would be Alien Swarm. It's free to play so long as you have a Steam account (which, as far as I know, is the only way to play it anyway).

AS is 4-player co-op and as such, really doesn't work too well with fewer players. Maia and I've tried playing it (just the two of us together) and the lack of two extra people is easily felt. This game is hard! :P

Other games that most of us probably have include Team Fortress 2 (which is free now as well, but is more open-multiplayer than co-op) and many other free-to-play titles on Steam also include co-op.

While we're at it, why don't we get INN running and everyone on there to chat/play games? I know that's not part of Steam, but it'd still be fun. In fact, I don't even care if the games we play together are on Steam or not. That program just makes it easier to connect and coordinate our efforts, but otherwise, it doesn't matter to me.

I'd be willing to play some TF2. I call engie! ;-)

(I'm only being facetious, as you can probably tell) ;-)

INN has been down (last time I checked) for a number of days. Don't know if the guy rebooted the server or not...
