mega math

Post by resin » Thu Nov 17, 2011 5:44 am

For some reason the game is not detecting the mouse.. If I remove/rename the resource.cfg, mouse operation works as normal, but of course I don't want to do this, because there will be no sound.. I tried changing the mouseDrv to STDMOUSE.DRV but no luck. Also tried removing that line entirely but still no luck. Any other ideas?

Perhaps it's your mouse or mouse driver. This isn't the first game you've had mouse problems.

I don't think so. With the exception of this and the other couple games I've posted about, all of my games run perfect (and I have a lot of games).. I admit it is a weird coincidence that just in the past few days I've run into multiple mouse problems, but then again I've been setting up a lot of games these past few days.

If your RESOURCE.CFG is right, try changing sbtype to sb2 in your dosbox.conf.

That along with changing the output and changing the music and sound settings in the install.exe got it to work right. I wouldn't have guessed the sound drivers could affect the mouse like that. Learned something new. Thanks again, that was a tricky one.

It was probably a resource conflict. Back in the DOS days there was always that one game that any given box could not run because of its hardware configuration that other machines had no trouble with. It is one if the reasons why DOSBox has so many different "hardware" settings. It is possible to get more games to run in DOSBox than was ever possible to on any one real DOS PC.
