The AGDI Thread

Post by pppp » Sat Sep 10, 2011 1:29 pm

I searched and apparently there is no thread to discuss everything about the development studio that is the new Sierra in my opinion so i made one. Here's are my opinion of their games:

KQ1VGA : A great remake that looks exactly like something made by Sierra.I love how they got Josh Mandel to play Graham :) I like the Silver Lining actor but to me Mandel will always be the true voice of Graham. However i still kinda prefer the SCI remake, since i can still use the text interface to do all kinds of crazy things

KQ2VGA+ : This one blew me away. It's right now my favorite point & click adventure(That's right i said it). I loved the new puzzles, the new areas, the new characters, the music and most of all the expanded plot that filled the plotholes of the original, made me actually feel very sad at the Grandma part and brought sense to why Daventry has so much problems throughout the series.I love also how they took the unexplained "Black Cloak Society" thing from KQ6 and developed it by introducing the awesome villain known as "The Father" and linking every evil sorcerer to the society. My favorite KQ game :)

QFG2VGA : The only QFG that never got the VGA treatment. Fortunately they took care of that. Not much to say it's pretty much the same game but with better graphics and music and the point & click interface.

KQ3VGA: The IA remake was pretty good for what it was,but this one is amazing. My definite way of playing KQ3.The spellcasting is way easier but they made up for that with new puzzles and shorter "greenlight" time periods. The music was beautiful but i have only one problem with this one: Alexander's voice actor. He's just...not a good actor :| They even got him to sing which was...well it wasn't very good sorry :?

I haven't played Al Emmo so i can't speak for that. Thoughts?

Everyone keeps saying that the voice actor for Gwydion sang the end song, but he didn't. He did sing the Door of Destiny song when playing the lute but he did not sing the end song.

The voice actor for Gwydion was actually a professional actor who volunteered for the part.

I was talking about the tavern song.

It's like Paw and Roses say: He tried to emulate Robby Benson's performance but failed. He sounds so uninterested in anything he does.

I agree somewhat. It sort of works given Gwydion's sheltered and abused nature. But it's too much in a lot of areas.
