Space Quest II inserted in the Chest

In Space No One Can Hear You Clean, er, Scream. But if you post in this forum about Space Quest - someone's sure to hear you. I think. Try it, anyway!

Nice, but I noticed that you are using WMA for your embeded audio. WMA is not a web standard. I have Media Player 12 (Win7 w/ SP1), but the page complains that I need Media Player 11. Using WMA means that the page will effectively only work with IE. If you use MP3, your embedded player can be flash, which will work with all of the normal platforms and browsers, except iPhone/iPad.

Nearly everyone has flash already installed and your audio will work for the widest range of visitors without them needing to install any extra plugins. I have a freeware flash player and code that you can use on your pages.

Yes, I know about the audio issue. Do you know any free software that can convert audio files to different file types?

Lame is open source/freeware and is one of the best MP3 encoders available.

http://lame.sourceforge.net/

Let me know if you want the freeware flash player and code for you pages.

I've used Oxelon Media Converter before and Audacity might be another solution.

The reason I say Audacity "might help" is because I haven't come across WMA files for a long time. Audacity can save and export different media types as MP3 or OGG, however. I think Audacity uses the LAME MP3 encoder.

Considering that Audacity is yet another open source project, I would expect it to use Lame. I'll have to check my Audacity install. But yes, Audacity with Lame would work very well.

And Rudy, if you want to use some of the SHP recordings, let me know. I have some using my MT-32 :D .

I downloaded Lame but, for a noob like me, I simply don't know how to work with it. Then I tried the Oxelon Media Converter: very easy to use. Already converted a few of the music files. Many more to come :).

Can you show an example of implementation of that flash player?

And of course I'm interested in Roland MT-32 recordings :D
