That name sounds familiar. Were you a member of Susan's Laura Bow yahoo group? Maybe I've seen you on sierragamers too...

Anyways, welcome aboard!

JDHJANUS, welcome here - of course I've seen you on the GK forum, where I hope you'll be an active and contributory member, and it's terrific to see you here as well.

Clingram, welcome - settle in and enjoy the helpful and friendly community here.

A lot of people joining! *waves as people flood past her through the open door*

OK, maybe not that many, but it's good to see that we're getting more people here. Hopefully, not everyone will be grues. ;)

Nah, she meant "grue." Maia's referring to a well known line ("It is dark. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.") from the original Zork, which occurs if your lantern goes out or is stolen.

Has anyone <whisper> ever seen... a grue?

Can anyone tell me what they look like?

Because... my lantern's flickering.

Yes. Followed by "Oh no! You have walked into the slavering fangs of a lurking grue!". Grues are lurkers. :D Of course, that's just my excuse to make a Zork reference. ;)
