Re: Dragon Age II
At least it doesn't look like another recycled area.
I will be in Croatia when the add-on is released, so I won't buy it the first day like I did with DA:O DLCs. I will wait to hear some opinions.
Truth be told, I hoped for something set after the end of the game, and not during it. However, if you guys tell me it's good, I'll purchase it.

Re: Dragon Age II
Well, it may be awhile before I get it. I am more interested in picking up the three recently released Mortal Kombat character DLCs (Skarlett, Kenshi and Rain).

I still have to finish Gray Matter, DPX and I have gotten back into Borderlands, and I'm really looking forward to Deus Ex: Human Revolution in August. So this isn't as high of a priority for me right now. I would like to play it at some point, though.

Dragon Age II Question re: Sys Reqs
I've been considering Dragon Age II, but I'm not sure that I'll be able to run it. I'm running Windows 7, so for me the game's system requirements are:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo (or equivalent) running at 1.8 GHz or greater minimum, or Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz Processor or equivalent recommended
Memory: 1 GB (1.5 GB Vista and Windows 7), or 2 GB (4GB for Vista and Win 7 recommended)
Hard drive space: 7 GB of free space
Graphics hardware: Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB minimum
Sound hardware: Direct X 9.0c Compatible Sound Card Windows
My stats are:
CPU: Intel Core i3 540 CPU @3.07GHz
Memory: 4 GB
Hard drive space: 716 GB free
Graphics hardware: ATI Radeon HD 5670
Sound hardware: Direct X 9.0c Compatible Sound Card Windows
As you can see, I'm pretty sure that my system will run this game - the only sticking point is the processor. Can this processor handle it? I'm happy even if it doesn't run with all the bells and whistles, just as long as it runs.
Thanks!

Re: Dragon Age II Question re: Sys Reqs
Rath, my machine is from 2004. It's a P4 3.6GHz w/ HT (single core), 2GB of RAM, 512MB ATI Radeon HD 3870 and running WinXP Pro SP3.
The result? DA2 ran perfectly for me.
I've found that the vast majority of game system requirements aren't very accurate. I'm running games released THIS YEAR without a hitch and if system reqs were accurate, I wouldn't be able to do that.
It's really funny, too. I've seen morons make statements like "Pentium 4's can barely boot up" or "the only thing a P4 could play nowadays is Freecell or a game from PopCap."
Obviously, that's not true at all. Try telling them that and you'll get flamed.
Anyway... my point is that you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Re: Dragon Age II Question re: Sys Reqs
Great!
Thanks. I've done some research myself into processor and graphics card benchmarks, and it looks like my system meets and beats the sys reqs too.
By the way... Pentium 4s can't boot up? A P4 can't play anything but Freecell? Le Sigh... whatever.
Anyway. Thanks again!

Re: Dragon Age II Question re: Rogue skills
Hmmm. It appears that Varric cannot pick locks or disarm traps in DA2...? But I thought he was a rogue...? And rogues pick locks and disarm traps all the time (they're famous for it - and they did it all the time in the first game...)?
So what gives?

Re: Dragon Age II Question re: Rogue skills
I would need to launch the game (and I can't right now because my X360 is packed away) - but I don't think Varric is that kind of Rogue... He's more the damage dealing kind of rogue.Rath Darkblade wrote:Hmmm. It appears that Varric cannot pick locks or disarm traps in DA2...? But I thought he was a rogue...? Also, since you're asking general game questions (and your Spec Question has been answered) - going to combine this with the existing DA2 thread.

Re: Dragon Age II
OK, but... I thought ALL rogues potentially had either the skill or the talent to pick locks and remove traps? I'm confused. Can I give Varric this skill?
