Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
I'm in the deep roads right now and I'm getting a little frustrated. It's starting to feel a little repetitive. Maybe I'm just not in the mood for a fantasy game right now.
I don't want to lose interest in the game, but I feel like it's taking me forever to get anywhere in it lately.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
Admittedly, going through the Deep Roads isn't an easy job and the more you'll proceed, the more tough will the challenge become. But, hey: let's look on the bright side. After the Deep Roads, assumin the Dwarves are your last ally to gain, you'll finally start the Landsmeet, and the game suddenly becomes really, really, really epic.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
I have to agree with 'Draco. I am not yet done with the game - I just finished the Landsmeet and moved into the "Invasion" (just started it - had to put down the control at 2am). The game REALLY does become epic. The Landsmeet is full of some pretty difficult choices.
That said, since the Dwarves WERE my last allies - trust me, the Deep Roads is long. Really long. But you will eventually get through to it - when you find the female dwarf (Banka or whatever her name is) - it's pretty awesome what flows from there.
That said...
'Draco ... you may not want to read this part...
So during the Landsmeet and I am going around to get some additional allies to speak for the choice I made to take the throne - an encounter happened as I was moving through Denerum. A member of the Crow came up and was like, "It's time for you to die. Wish Zeveran was with you." And I was like, "Yeah, well Zeveran is alive and fine. You want to stand down and get out of my way." Suddenly Zeveran shows up, and was like, "Hey dude! Nice to see you again." The Crow dude was like, "Join me Zeveran. Let us slay them and return to the Crow." I tell Zeveran not to do it. Zeveran however says, "Wonder if you will get lucky to survive an encounter with the Crow - twice." And turns on me. I had to kill Zeveran! I bet it's because I never did anything to raise his standing with me that much... I was kind of bummed because I used him from time to time to basically go through an area I cleaned out to pick all the locks. I actually liked him.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
Alas, I feared this would happen
It's a pity, though, because it only takes +33 Approval for Zavran not to turn on you. In this case, he simply slips away and lets you deal with Taliesin. However, if you are at Care/Interested/Adore, Zevran stays and fights with you and, after the fight, when he realizes that he's finally free from the Crows' yoke, he asks the Warden what he has to do with his life -- it's the first time since he was seven that he's free, and he doesn't know what to do about it. If the Warden tells him that he can do whatever he likes, Zevran gets "angry" and says something like: "Let me be more clear: I'm asking you if you want me by your side". If the Warden is in a relationship with him, he can declare his love to him; otherwise, if the Warden only tells Zevran that his honored to be his friend (the Warden can declare his/her love later), Zevran makes what is, in my opinion, one of the most heartfelt and beautiful dialogue in the game...
Beware, big spoiler about Zevran and the end of the game:
... In this dialogue, Zevran says that he thinks he knows what will happen in the end - that's saying, the Warden will die slaying the Archdemon. But he doesn't care of the risks and perils ahead. He says - and this happen even if he's only friendly and not in a relationship (in that case, the piece de resistance happens a little later
) - that he's willing to die to protect the Warden, and to everything to prevent the Warden from dying. He's the only character, beside Alistair, but that happens in a very different context, that is prepared to die for the Warden, whether he's his friend or his lover. As such, there's no question: Zevran is the most loyal companion you can get during the entire game!
Anyway, enough with the Zevran's support group. Tawmis, may I ask you...
(during and after Landsmeet questions)
1. Who did you choose as king?
2. What did you do about Loghain?
3. What happens to Anora?
4. How about the character(s) you're in a relationship with, if any?
5. Have you already seen the night before the big battle? If so, what did you choose?

I found this (a real shocker!) as well: There's nothing here, but I was hoping someone would look. I felt like being an ass, so... here's my effort!

1. Alistair of course. I love his dialogue and how resistant he is to the idea. But he turns out to be an awesome king.
2. I said to turn him into a Grey Warden so he understand us, Alistair would not have it and Loghain understood - knelt down - and Alistair cut his head off.
3. She is arrested and put in the prison. But she's very understanding and says Alistair is more forgiving than she would have been.
4. Morigann, aduh.
5. Morigann offers to do some magic (I won't say what unless you ask) and I decline. This makes her LEAVE the party! I lost my most powerful person RIGHT BEFORE the biggest battle!

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
If that's so, then...
Did you sacrificed yourself or did you commanded Alistair to slay the Archdemon?
During my first playthrough, I did your same choices, apart from...
I accepted Morrigan's ritual, and I convinced Alistair to lie with her to impregnate her
Man, the final round of choices is indeed awesome!

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
I made the final choice to sacrifice myself. It seemed fitting. To die a hero. Alistair still had his sister (in Denerum) that he could one day reconcile with her... while my character had nothing else to really live for. His entire family slaughtered. Erl Howe was killed. It seemed fitting that I take the end.

You will? Heck! I will! Can you imagine if the next Dragon Age allows you to import characters?

Going to be difficult... if my character is dead at the end. But Awakening is an expansion pack. Not actually a new Dragon Age game, correct?AndreaDraco wrote:It will.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
Yes, even if it's a direct sequel to the story told in the first one.
The Warden - being him/her your old character or a new Orlesian general - is entitled to rebuild the order in Amaranthine, the arling that King Alistair (or Queen Anora, for that matter) grants to the Gray Wardens at the end of the game
The expansion will also incorporate the choices you did in the first game, such as...
Who's king; where's Morrigan by the end of the game; what happened to Loghain; what happened to the Circle of Magi and so on

So I take it that in the sequel we'd also see what becomes of Morrigan's child if that option is carried over. Somehow, I can't imagine rainbows and sunshine to come out of that union.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
Maybe not, Datadog. The writers have said that Morrigan's child will not feature in the expansion. This dish will probably be served in a full-fledged sequel.
