Help !! I'm stuck playing 9 man Morris in the pub - and just about ready to go insane !!

Is there any help available anywhere that will show me how I can definitely win ??

[I've even been practising on websites that feature the game but am still absolutely pathetic ]

I didn't know that 9 Men's Morris is one of the games that can be won algorithmically!!!

Now I'm going to reload a save and see if I can find the correct path through the hedge maze behind the abbey.
Seems like I should have done it when I was at the abbey before - but I didn't

Hi

I decided to carry on a bit further before re-loading the save to practise "finding a path through the hedge maze" but got myself stuck again !!

After having done all I should at the fair, including winning the archery contest, I am now constantly trying to evade the soldiers in the forest.
I've evaded them three times already by temporarily spelling out the name of the blackberry bush on my "hand" and then hiding when it opened up for me and each time afterwards have made it back to camp or the overlook area. But the dreaded "pursuit" music continues.

How many times DO I have to evade the soldiers to finally get through this part ??
[I've never been any good at the things like this that pepper the old Sierra games ]

Why, I don't know, but when I caved in and re-loaded a save before trying to evade the soldiers at all, and then played that part over again, the pursuit music DID stop when I reached the overlook

Well, having made a lot of progress now and got the password, I'm on my way to meet the knight.

However, it's another case of evading soldiers and dreaded pursuit music !!

And this time, whilst rushing off to reach a "grove" and hide, my character suddenly becomes invisible after a couple of screens - so I can't see him to click the "hand" on him and the soldiers always kill me !!

Is there some special way to get through this bit, please ??
[I must have tried at least a dozen times now ]
