Window size for KQ1VGA
Window size for KQ1VGA
Has anyone else noticed that the latest version of KQ1VGA has the ability to change window size removed? Even manually editing the config file does not work. It is kind of pointless to have the ability to play it windowed with a 320x240 window on a 28" monitor. Is this a bug with the current AGS? The low resolution is one peeve I have with AGS. I remember that years ago that there was concern that higher resolutions would make the games have trouble on older, slower machines. This is a rather silly argument, these days. Why cater to the few running sub 1GHz PIII or even older machines. Those that argue for that authentic look are not taking into account the larger monitors of today. Few in the KQ5-6 era had more than a 14", but playing full screen on a 20"+ is ridiculous.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The only way I was able to get it to change resolutions was to enable one of the graphics filter. Like 2x sets it to 640x480. 3x sets it to 960x600 and so on.

Re: Window size for KQ1VGA
Changing resolutions in AGS games is a bad idea in general. Always has been. Because it scales the game up but when sprites are drawn at a distance it draws them smaller instead of keep the pixels the same size as everything else. I actually prefer the 2x, 3x, etc filters because they keep the game consistent. I really disliked how IA made KQ3VGA 640x480 by default.
