The first console I ever played on was an Atari 2600. I was really young and can recall mispronouncing "Grand Prix" (an Atari 2600 game) as "Grand Pricks." Obviously, that'd be a different game entirely. :P

I think Maia had an Intellivision, but I don't know for sure.

As for Get Lamp itself... I was interested, but the price seems a little steep at $45.
Oh, yeah the 2600. My first console experience as well. I also had a C64. But I loved my IBM PC XT. 4.77 MHZ, 640K (with full-length AST 6-pack card), 10 MB hard drive and one 5.25" disk drive. Oh, and a CGA adapter card (full length as well).

My fondest memory of Zork on the XT was every time you'd get past a puzzle, the computer would pause a moment and spin up the floppy drive (presumably to get some new data for the next room, puzzle, etc). Great memories.

You are likely to be eaten by a grue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nigRT2KmCE This was on disc 2. Listening to it for the 2nd time. EDIT: 6th time.

Oh no! You have walked into the slavering fangs of a lurking grue!

You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

Oh, the nostalgia! The thief in Zork 1 was where I got my first interest in thieves. :D

One of the other early ones I played was MoonMist. I loved that you could actually specify whether you were male or female and have the game characters call you by name. Plus, I loved the spooky castle adventure.

I always wanted a battery-powered brass lantern.
