Villain Suggestions?

Post by Datadog » Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:21 am

I'm getting ready to make another tournament for Sierra Villains, and DPX has suggested I step outside my adventure game comfort zone and include villains from other genres inside the Sierra family. And I agree with him. My problem with this is that I haven't played many of the other non-adventure games, so I wouldn't know which ones have noteworthy villains.

Here's where you come in - if there are any villains you want to see added to the roster, post them here. Even add in some adventure ones if you think I might overlook anyone important (like the Boogeyman.) Obviously we can't stick every villain in here, but I'd hate to miss any fan-favorites.

Some rules:
1. No henchmen; must act independently (and intelligently) to kill, hinder, or annoy you.
2. If the villain is a spoiler, put their name in tags.

I should also note that out of the adventures, I didn't play Manhunter, Inca, Lost in Time, or Lighthouse yet, so any feedback on those would be great.

The Dark Being from Lighthouse. He's creepy.
And the Ixupi, what about those?

The Ixupi sound good to me. I haven't played many non-adventures from Sierra, though. What about New Terra (the actual planet, because of all the natural disasters) from Outpost 2? Or the Blight?

I was up in the air about the Ixupi since they seem to lack intelligence and be more like common guards. But if we can consider them all to be one villain, I can definitely toss them in there.

Here's a question I have about the Police Quest 3 villain: It's been a while since I played it, but who's the main villain? Michael Bains or Pat Morales? I can't remember if either of them is the head honcho, or if they're just accomplices. Would either be good on this list?

I'd go with Michael Bains. Pat is more a side-quest than anything else.

That's what I was thinking too. It'd be just like in "The Colonel's Bequest" where Lillian is the one tallying her body count, and Rudy's just doing last minute clean-up.

I would say that there are way too many spoilers in this thread. :P

Seriously though, what about Al Scurva? He can definitely kill you if you're not careful. ;)

True enough, but I think he qualifies more as a henchman or mindless beast. The same applies to New Terra - that is, unless... is the planet sentient? I haven't played the game, so I don't know. But if the planet was strategically trying to kill the colonists, that would be awesome.

Alas, no. That would make for some amazing gameplay, though.

That sort of reminds me of The Savage Chicken. ;)

He's actually a Disney villain, so I didn't include him. Although there's the off-chance he might sneak into a bonus round later...

Wait wait wait... Why do you consider Baba Yaga an original character?
