I got a little bored so I made a video.

Post by QuestCollector » Fri Jun 25, 2010 8:53 pm

I was just sitting around my computer today and decided to make a video. I used my cell phone to record a video of my games and added some music. The quality is very average but it seemed like a cool thing to do and was fun. Here is the link.

Wow! Very impressive! I love the background music from the adventurer's guild. The acoustic guitar version is so pretty.

Have you played all of them yet? ;)

I finally played through Gabriel Knight 1 & 2. They were great! I'd play GK3 but my copy is sealed, so maybe I'll download it from gog. It's like five dollars there. Right now I'm going through Torin's Passage. The Conquests series is next!

Very nice! I like how you framed a couple of the rare ones. Might do that too some day.

Was that the first time you've played GK1 and 2?

I'm a little envious. My Sierra collection is relatively small now because I got rid of some of them about a decade ago, due to moving and lack of space. Plus, I can be a ruthless minimalist at times. That is at odds with my sentimental side that wishes I'd kept them. Oh well, at least I still have my most favourite.

I love that music. Those are some of my favourite pieces from QfG.

Very cool. :)

My Dad's study has a somewhat similar collection (although not as complete as yours), plus all sorts of games from other companies. Most of that stuff was bought by my brother and me, but the older Sierra games were often bought by my Mom for my Dad as gifts.

It's weird when your Mom asks you: "He likes this one, right?" in reference to an LSL game. :P

Yes it was!

I'm glad I decided to play through them, it was worth it. I'll even say it was one of the better experiences I've had in adventure gaming. Even made it through without a walkthrough! I'd like to play the GK3, so i'll have to buy an opened copy which i'm sure I can find on eBay cheap.

It was refreshing getting away from the PS3 and 360. I really prefer plot over graphics anyday, and the consoles only give you that like twice a year.

Hey I got one extra GK3 around here, would you like to have it?

Glad to hear rthat you enjoyed them, QC! ;)

I personally think that The Beast Within is perhaps the best adventure ever created, when it comes to plot, characters, atmosphere and background (not to mention the huge historical research Jane did to write it).
Talk to coffee? Even Gabriel isn't that addicted!

Good! It’s exciting to hear what new players think about the series. It’s such a great set of games and the characters are so likable. I can’t pick a general favorite because they all have their own unique positives. After you finish the series, let us know what you think. :)

I can’t believe you didn’t use a walkthrough! I have a feeling you may need one in GK3 though…

Have you seen Jane’s newest game, Gray Matter? It should be released in a few months. :)
