DOSBox adjustments for SQ install?

Hi guys - sorry if this is addressed somewhere else - I skimmed through the topics and didn't see it. So...

My wife picked up a copy of the Space Quest Collection on CD. Installed fine, but it seems that the DOSBox package tries to open itself up in full-screen mode with a display setting my monitor can't handle. (If I hit Alt-Enter, my display comes back up, and DOSBox is there, running in a small window)

Is there a way for me to configure DOSBox to go to a particular monitor setting when it launches? Having it go to 640x480 when I launch one of the SQ titles is fine, but I need to make sure it picks one that works. (And yes, my display supports a handful of 640x480 options that my PC's integrated video card offers)

If it's relevant, I'm running XP Service Pack 3 on a Dell Optiplex tower...

If this is the 2006 collection, be sure that you have applied the patch for it.

Thanks Collector. The box came with a single CD - if that matters - and the back says "Copyright 1986-1995", so I assumed that was close enough to make that the 2006 Edition and went ahead and installed the updater.

Now when I hit the newly-added shortcuts, I see the (new) DOSBox splash screen come up for a second, then it dumps right back out.

The patch will not work for the earlier collections. For those you need to use the right installer. Please use the installer intended for your collection
