I don't think so (taking part in the city) from the screen shots I have seen of the game... But that was a long time ago... it could have been Dreamfall...?... But I imagine, with the intro and the whole thing with dragons and magically flute playing naked-humanoid sort of beaver-things... I don't think it all just happens in the city.

The whole game doesn't take place in the city. There is a fantasy world.

I felt the same way about the rubber-ducky puzzle. Who would go to that much trouble?

I had to resort to hints more than a few times in my first play through of TLJ. Thankfully, when I played it the second time, it was a few years after the first, so I remembered just enough to allow me to play hint-free (I think), but forgot enough to have it feel like almost a new game. Despite certain game-play issues, I absolutely loved the setting, the soundtrack, the story, and the characters.

I really liked April. A lot of people complained about her being "whiny", but seriously, who wouldn't complain and feel a teensy bit resentful, if someone showed up just when you'd turned your life around and told you had to drop everything to save the world? No pressure. Anyone who claims they would rise up that challenge without so much as a whimper is deluding themselves. I think she is a very realistic heroine and, over time, she rose to the challenge quite well.

One thing I really liked about Dreamfall over the original TLJ is that puzzles pretty much all made sense. In fact, there were times where I thought to myself, "can it be that simple?" and it was. I liked that.

Oh lord, no. The game spans two worlds, Stark and Arcadia. The part that takes place in Arcadia involves an ancient city, deep woods, floating castles, ocean voyages and fantastical creatures.

And it is so much better than the other one!

I can now confirm that it doesn't all take place on... "Earth." :D

But holy crap... this is a VERY hard game...

I do like the story thus far, though. My sole complaint would be that EVERYONE - except Charlie - seems to be a sarcastic arse. Including April.

Nice to see that you are finally enjoying the game after how long has it been since I sent you the game?

Well it's been on my laptop - and the thing is, I normally don't use my laptop unless we go on vacation. So it was actually perfect, since the wife ALWAYS goes to bed before I do, that when we were on vacation somewhere, I had a game that I could play (that was totally new to me!) on my laptop!

Now that I work weekends, which are VERY slow here, I decided, "Hey! Bring my laptop in, work on the LSL site, play some TLJ, and what not!" So, now on the weekend (Saturdays, and in this case, today - Sunday - since I volunteered to work today) - I have been enjoying some TLJ.

Nine times out of ten, Maia will go to bed before me. I think most of that is so she can fall asleep before I start snoring. :P
