Jollo help...nuff said

Need to start over...I've reached near the end, but I didn't make friends with Jollo?

besides saying "argh", is there anything else I need to know? Is there any other restart-pitfall in this game, after Jollo?

I think this same thing happened to me when I was a kid. It seemed as mystifying then as it does now why someone would make you start over for not knowing what you need to do 10 hours down the line. I can barely figure out what to do next, let alone at the end of the game.

nuff gripng...what else do I need to know about finishing the game?

In the infamous words of Al Lowe, "Save Early, Save Often."

Actually I don't remember Jollo's "friendship" being a game breaker?

But then it's been awhile...

Those who are misled into believing KQ6 > KQ4 may have more information.

To befriend Jollo, all you have to do is show him your ring BEFORE you trade it for the magic map. This is right at the beginning of the game, after talking to the Ferryman. Afterwards, there will be two other times you can meet with him: when you first see the wedding notice in the town, and during the Beast's quest.

Regarding how to finish the game - Jollo's friendship isn't necessary, and you can beat the game without his help. There's still a few items you need before going into the castle though. If you went in through the main entrance, you'll need the song bird and mint leaf. And if you took the side entrance, you'll need the skeleton key, mint leaf, and ghostly hankerchief.

Edit, added spoiler tags

Jokes on me, then, because my "walkthrough", which I keep around just in case, said that if I didn't be-friend him then I can't progress. Well---it doesn't matter anymore, since I deleted all my save games. jeesh

cheers

Gah! See if you can undelete. 99% of the people here will say play it again, as KQ6 is "the best adventure game ever made" (by Sierra, or otherwise).

Nah, that's Gabriel Knight. But KQ6 is a close second. It isn't a case that Jane wrote it ;)

At least you have the right game designer.
