How possible is it to run MS DOS programs on Windows 7 platform? My current dos application works fine on windows XP. Am planning to buy a new laptop but very difficult now to find one with windows XP as its operating system. Still want to maintain that dos program. thanks.

If you get Win7 32-bit it will come with the built-in DOS emulator just like XP does. If you get any compatibility issues or you have 64-bit Windows you can try DOSBox.

By the way, this does not have anything to do with the update and will be splitting this off to its own thread.

As a side note, the Geocities page mentioned for NewRisingSun no longer exists. No geocities site exist anymore.

Here is the archived New Rising Sun page. It seems to still have downloads intact.

Of Course the patches are available on SHP. Just go to the patches section for your game. If there is an NRS patch for it, it will be listed there. SHP also has some of the NRS patches that are not on the old Geocities site. Also, they are not needed with any of the collection updaters or installers as they are already included.

It is never recommended to apply any patches to games installed with the SHP installers or to the 2006 collections if patched with the SHP updaters.
