Telltale has used the same control scheme since Tales of Monkey Island. I find it intuitive enough (better than Escape or Grim Fandango anyway). Also, if you walk to a different area of the screen while holding a movement key (say up) and the camera changes you'll still be walking straight while holding that key (even though you're technically going, say, left now) but as soon as you take your finger off the key and press it again the movement keys are now set in relation to the compass directions of THAT camera.

And Telltale's typical response to "why can't I just click where I want to go?" is that if they did that they wouldn't be able to add those cinematic camera angles they're looking for. Like closeups and such. There's no way to click on anything if you can't see the floor, for instance.

On top of that, they've been trying to get adventure games onto consoles, so the new walking interface simulates the movement of an analog controller. It takes time to get used to on a PC, but apparently they can't modify it to the click-and-walk without remapping entire scenes. Also, the way they set up camera angles can make it impossible to click and walk. Which is a shame because I really liked the follow-the-mouse-cursor interface for S&M Season 2 and Homestar Runner.

I so have to get this soon. I love Back to the Future and am really excited about this. Right now though, I'm swimming in bills and I've got two free games to play(The Silver Lining Ep 3, and King's Quest III redux)

My main concern about buying games from the web is DRM. Do Telltale employe any DRM? I'd hate to loose the right to play the game if my computer needed to be re-built.

Also, $24 sounds like a bargain to me, considering most new computer games these days are around $100 (at least in Australia)

The answer is "sort of." TellTale makes you create an account and when you purchase games, those games are then attached to that account. You can download and play them as many times as you want. You can use a new computer or anyone's computer, so long as you log in with your account name and password.

So in effect, the DRM is needing an account with TellTale and having the game attached to your account. Without your account, you couldn't play the games.

It used to be that once you downloaded them you never had to online authenticate again but that doesn't seem to be the case with BTTF. In the past you could either authenticate by logging into your Telltale Account or by using the serial key of your bought game (that you purchased with your Telltale Account) and activating it offline.

Good to know. I haven't tried it off-line yet.

The nice thing about having the hard copies is that Telltale doesn't use serial numbers with those - although that might change with the newer games.

Episode 4 is out. I beat it in 2 hours. The gameplay is the same as ever, but the storyline is getting really good. This episode was actually a little bit dark. Done extremely well, though.

I agree on the story here. This is the episode I was waiting for, where the story suddenly becomes Telltale's own and they take BTTF in some new directions. Again, it feels too short, but I gather these will have a bigger impact if actually played in order.

Gameplay's still meh. This one does have the most puzzles out of any of the BTTF episodes, but they still add up to about half the puzzles from any other TT game.
