Any more thoughts before I order? ;)
Agreed. I've had some experience with the 300 and I liked it (and others of Antec as well)

Like the others, I say go for it. :)

I can haz new shiny! :D *grins like a LOLcat* :D

The new shiny arrived today, and I picked it up from the store, 10 minutes before the store closed. Yay! :D

It's all assembled. I need to install Windows, copy data, install apps and games, etc. - but at least I've picked it up from the shop. Phew. What a long drive I had. ;)

Still, it's done, so I'm pretty happy. Yay!!! *jumps up and down in excitement like a little kid* ;-)

Pics or it didn't happen.

Seriously, show us some pics of this new beast! I've been planning to buy a new rig online for a while now. It never happens, though. So I think I'm going to order it piece by piece instead gradually over time.

It's still in the box. I haven't had time to unpack this new beast - I'm at work all day, I get home at 6pm, have dinner till 7, and go online at 8. I'd rather not start installing this new beast until I have time to do it properly - one hour a night just ain't gonna cut it! :P

I'll get to it this weekend (in two-three days' time).

Especially if I had been putting up with an ancient PC for as long as Rath has.

Meh! I've been putting up with this PC for about 7 years - so I'm sure I can put up with it for another couple of days! :P :lol;

You'll wonder how you ever did after you build this one :).

It is now built! :D I still have to install several apps and games and things, but it's all built for now! *does a dance* :D

I'll post some pictures when I have them. :-)

Bump!

New notebook I'm getting as an early Valentine's Day present from my wife:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6834220997

Still waiting for it to ship but it's going to be nice when it arrives. It's not quite as powerful as the computer I bought on newegg about a year ago but the graphics card is a little bit higher up. This is no replacement for my desktop machine, but it'll be great now that I'm on the road and away from home more with a new job I've recently acquired. It'll be handy to be able to do almost all the things I do at home on the go. I'm not going to be using the battery that much so I'm not really worried about its life span, but I hear it's not horrible. Should be here within a day or two. Some specs for those who don't like clicking:
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2410M 2.30GHz 3MB L3 Cache 64-bit
  • Screen: LED backlit 15.6" 1080p w/HDMI & VGA ports
  • RAM: 4GB DDR3 (8 max)
  • HDD: 640GB 5400 RPM
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M Dedicated 2GB DDR3 VRAM
  • Misc: Bluetooth, USB 3.0, 5-in-1 card reader, DVD Super Multi, 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN, 2.0 MP Webcam
  • OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Also apparently has some incredible speakers for a laptop, though turning it up to full volume causes distortion.

I just realized Rath never did post any pictures! :) Neither did I, actually, for the rig I bought...at least I don't think I did.

Hey, no Intel graphics. :D

Actually, it does have Intel graphics. And also a slightly annoying sort of obtrusive non-customizable setting where it uses the Intel HD graphics to save on power. This is an automatic function and there's no real way to set it to always use NVidia when plugged in or anything like that. But it's easy enough to set manually for each program, so the reviewers say.
