Some ScummVM help, please?

ScummVM is working well for me with Monkey Island 3 and everything is fine. :)

However, I thought I might try to use it to play Discworld II. I'm running two drives - C (running Windows 2000) and D (running Windows XP) - and I tried to install DW2 on both drives (alternately, of course; I first installed it on drive D, tried ScummVM unsuccessfully, uninstalled it and re-installed on drive C). However, when I try to add the game in ScummVM, the program insists that it cannot find the game on either drive. :(

I also tried to add the files that the ScummVM wiki tells me to add - however, when I do so, I'm told that the files cannot be found on my DW2 CDs. :(

Any ideas?

Keep in mind that the Discworld games are not yet officially supported. You'll need to use a Subversion (developmental) version of ScummVM.

They're not? But the compatibility page says that both Discworld and Discworld II are "98% compatible"? *confused* Here: http://scummvm.org/compatibility/

I've had a look at the subversions, and there doesn't appear to be a version for Windows XP - only for CE. *shrug* Oh, well.

That is a compatibility list for the SVN version of ScummVM, not the stable release, but it does appear that the stable release does support it now, too. I guess what I was thinking of was the delay in the release of version 1 due to waiting for Discworld being freewared, which did not happen.

You are looking in the DW2 folder of the CD, aren't you? The base of the CD contains no game data files. Perhaps you have an unknown version of the game, which ScummVM does not recognize. You could report your MD5 to the ScummVM crew to have it added. Hash Tab is probably the easiest way to find the MD5.

I'm sorry, I don't know what MD5 is or what hashes have to do with anything... *confused* :(

MD5 is like a file's fingerprint. It is how ScummVM identifies a game. If your game is a little different, the MD5 will be different, too. If an MD5 has not been added to ScummVM, it will not recognize that version of a game.
