Re: What are you playing now?

I've picked up a copy of Prince of Persia: Collector's Edition. Which has the original PoP, Shadow And The Flame, and the making of PoP 3d. Just looked at it and found that, although the box said it was for Win 95 and 98, it comes with the DOS-version of PoP. It may have been twenty years since I first controlled Prince, but today was the first time I played a legal copy. Unfortunately it's a later edition so I couldn't get the level 7 glitch to work.

Today I broke two curses. One is that I finally managed to run a lap of the park, something which asthma had always prevented me from doing up to now. And, 20 years since I first played Prince of Persia (and I was so scared of the skeleton back then...)
I Beat Level 8!!

I beat Prince of Persia!
Say, Jaffar was pretty easy to fight, about as hard as the corpulent guard in level 6.

The three Achievement Unlockeds are about nothing but unlocking achievements. And perhaps a bit of platforming. And it has blue elephants.

Diablo 2. 2013 seems as good a year as any to finally tackle this.

Only purple ones do, but with blue ones you can get quite a long way too. Anyway, I like them. Especially AU2 since it has a little keyboard you can play. (And have to play a few songs on for achievements). AU3 is unfortunately so large it's buggy and you probably will end up finishing it with less than 100% of the achievements.

Yesterday I spinned Prince of Persia again and made it all the way through from the start; but at level 12 I died so often (once after the reflection came, I put away my sword, and then he killed me in one blow because I wasn't in En Garde mode. Grr.) that I only had 3 minutes left by the time I finished.

I had no idea Mechner kept journals during those days. Might have to check that out.
