Re: QfG5
I remember some early CD games having something called "Redbook Audio." With that, you could pop the CD game disc into a normal CD player and listen to the music from the game. Two titles that stand out in my mind are the original Rainbow Six and Warhawk (which was for the PS1). I think they stopped...

Re: And One Must Perish!
I always thought Connor sounded like a twit. I'm not sure even a personality would have saved him with that irritating voice. I didn't mind his voice that much, but what really annoyed me was how little interaction there was in the environment. What little existed were either enemies to be killed (...

Re: Useful Website: PDF Search Engine
I don't know her or her story. But I'll take your word for it that she's a very unlikely reason for visiting Sierra Vault! She's a world famous p0rn star from the 1980s. What actually made Traci Lords famous wasn't her "acting ability." She fooled the entire p0rn industry by taking part as a minor....

Re: What are you playing now?
I tried my hand at Police Quest 1 (the remake in VGA) in DOSBox. It's been years since I last played it. The part where I need to open Sonny's locker has a combination on it, which was part of the game's copy protection. I think I was supposed to look in the manual for it, but I have no idea where t...

Re: Which emotion is most powerful, do you think?
Depression is anger turned inwards, so it probably counts. Not always. Someone might have clinical depression, which is quite different from getting "depressed" over a bad test grade or getting dumped. Well we could get technical, and say that anger isn't a powerful emotion either, because there's ...

Re: Useful Website: PDF Search Engine
That sounds pretty neat. I'll look into it.
As for Traci Lords... who wouldn't know her story? If someone didn't know who she was, why would they search for her online? Even if they had some idea (but didn't know the specifics), they could have easily looked her up on Wikipedia.

Yeah, they refuse to upgrade to IE7 at work here, too. I don't know if IE7 has been improved much since its release (I rarely use it), but I remember my dad having downloaded it early. After he did so, he couldn't connect to the VPN necessary for his work. After he uninstalled IE7, the VPN worked a...

I realize that. I was merely commenting on the fact that many in the U.S. misunderstand the idea. That's all.Collector wrote:I was not talking about the right of happiness or even the right to pursue it, I was revering to the kind of happiness that Jefferson had in mind with this statement.

Re: Which emotion is most powerful, do you think?
Happiness certainly can have two meanings. Most just think of it as something akin to having a good time. Then there is the deeper meaning as in "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". That which give bliss, contentedness or joy of life. Although somewhat off-track, I hate it when people conf...

I seem to recall a magazine ad for this game in which a female sheep dresses up as a dominatrix.

Abyss: where did you find a Flash version of Commander Keen 1? I had all the CK games "back in the day." Apogee made some fun games. Technically speaking, Apogee Software (now called 3D Realms) did not make Commander Keen or any of the sequels. They published those games, but the developer was id S...

Re: Which emotion is most powerful, do you think?
The most powerful one is fear, followed closely by anger. They're the hardest to control and can easily override any current emotions with devastating results. I'd have to agree. People rarely think in a rational manner when it comes to either of these emotions. Love is quite a powerful emotion too...

I'd have Graham slip in the bathtub while accidentally pulling his wife's plugged-in hairdryer with him. The result would be positively shocking!

How to survive any RPG...
This article has got to be the most hilarious thing over Role Playing Games that I've ever seen.
