Yeah, I like Steam's auto-updating. Sometimes it's a pain when you've got a lot of updates (and in some cases, mods), but it saves you from having to go find each game's individual update yourself.

Must've missed it where he said he found it. Wish I had noticed it before I wrote all that up.

Re: Steam Question...
Rath, you have the setting Adeyke was talking about. My laptop's Steam client is older than yours (I usually use my desktop) and it's there, so it's not a client age issue or anything. Here's how to find it: 1. In the upper left-hand corner of the Steam client, there is a tab labeled "Steam." Click ...

Re: Gold Rush!
Oh, I agree they should get a refund, but I don't think they should get the entire game free. At absolute most, they should get a higher discount on the game itself. I guess my issue is there were quite a few people who bought numerous copies (some as much as 20 or more) to trade with other people. ...

Re: Gold Rush!
It's now for sale on Steam . The pre-discount price is a ridiculous $35. I agree, it's too much. I can appreciate the amount of work that went into the remake, but it's still a relatively simple game with simple mechanics. That said, some people thought they were pulling a fast one on the developer...

Re: GK1 Remake Demo Available on Steam.
My concern about Steam started after reading Collector's two posts about Heartbleed (and doing some research myself). I think I became a little paranoid about Steam, being online generally, and buying things online specifically. This is mainly because I've heard lots of horror stories about online ...

Considering the game's episodic, I'd say waiting is a good move.Collector wrote:This has been in the works for quite some time, but I had purposely ignored it since there seemed to be some question as to if it would see fruition. Nice to see that it was finished, though I will probably wait a bit before buying it.

Re: GK1 Remake Demo Available on Steam.
Rath, if logging into Steam is an issue for you, you have three alternatives: 1. GK1 uses Steam strictly as a delivery platform, which means you can play GK1 on Steam without logging into your account. You need to log into Steam to download and install it, but once it's on your hard drive, you can a...

Re: So with GK1 being remade...
 Now why in the world would anyone play through this game in less than one day? And then to post it online...? Whoever it was, it sounds like they had nothing else to do...! ;) Apparently speedruns are very popular with modern gamers. I have to admit there's something cool about playing action...

Re: Dragon Age: Origins free til Oct. 14
I often try to make my character look somewhat like me. The result is usually something closer to Gordon Freeman, if the character creator in question has decent beard options anyway. A lot of games really suck when it comes to facial hair. Anyone getting Origins - DON'T get turned off by how long i...

Re: DOSBox and laptop heat.
That doesn't really seem too hot to me. 129F is 54C and that's well within safe working temperatures. In contrast, my laptop (a Dell Studio 1558 from 2010, with an i7, and has Windows 7 on it) gets so hot I need a separate cooler for it. Even with the cooler, normal temperatures for the processor ar...

I'm probably switching between at least ten different games of entirely separate genres. As Maia could tell any of you, I have the attention span of a gnat.
Fortunately, I'm very focused when it comes to certain activities, like driving. But on the computer or watching TV? Not even close.

Wow. I've played LSL1 a bunch and never saw that. I wonder how long you'd have to wait to see that happen.

The demo, which can be viewed on YouTube, where the person recording it, showing a walkthrough for the demo. That's the demo I'm seeking. Then wait for the game to be released. Hopefully a demo will be available (probably on Steam) that you can try. If not, it wouldn't be the first game to not rele...

Re: Steam and GOG sales
GOG's having another sale, this time called the Autumn Assortment . I'd go into more detail about which games are in the sale, but I don't really feel like it, and all you've got to do is click the link to find out. Over in Steam, there's a sale for different games developed or published by Codemast...

Re: Need Help Installing: Hoyle Card Games 5
Just a thought, but have you tried installing XP Mode or a VM program?
I don't know if either would work, but at this point, it might be worth a shot.
