Re: Industry Award.
How touching. :) Yes, I still remember playing Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island 1. Let's be honest - who hasn't played these two? ;) Honestly? Probably millions of gamers, many of whom would consider a game that's a year old to be ancient, let alone titles that were released long before they concei...

Re: Sony sells off SOE which becomes Daybreak Games.
SOE stands for Sony Online Entertainment. I could see you "not getting into" one of their games, but the company itself?Rath Darkblade wrote:Hmm. Never got into SOE... I don't know what the problem is here. *shrug*

Re: Looking for a new game to play - what's your opinion?
I've only played the first chapter of TWAU (Maia's completed the entire game), but from what I've seen so far, the game is quite good. That said, I'd recommend waiting for the price to get lower (check Steam for a daily sale, weekly sale, or during its seasonal sales) before picking it up. Why? Well...

Re: Gold Rush! Anniversary Update Troubles
The website of Steam is a joke! Those creeps/jerks, need to get banned and quit ripping people off! The new Gold Rush Anniversary game, is way over prices, and I thought Sierra, or whomever, now owns Sierra, put a cease and desist on remaking their games. You do realize that Steam doesn't set the p...

Re: Gold Rush! Anniversary Update Troubles
Sorry. I will never reccomend Steam to anyone! Seems all they do on that website is rip people off and offer no help. Now, with the GOG website, its completely different. They actually help their customers. What exactly are you looking for help with? Updates? Valve doesn't handle the updates. Each ...

Re: Pixel Art - 3D Printed Sierra Characters!
I'm just wondering if Activision will send him a cease and desist notice. Technically, whoever did that has no legal right to sell those since the characters don't belong to him and he hasn't licensed them. I didn't post that in the Facebook thread about it, though. I didn't want to spend the next d...

Re: The one that stands out above the rest?
The ONE game (sounds like the older movie trailers: "one man...") that stands out for me wasn't the first Sierra or Sierra Family title I ever played, but it had the biggest impact on me. That game was Red Baron . For clarity, that's the original Red Baron which was released in 1990, not Red Baron 2...

Re: Dagger of Amon Ra play! - Tawmis
GK1 had a more complicated interface than the usual Sierra games: it split the talk cursor into separate talk and ask cursors, and the interact cursor into separate pickup, open/close, interact, and move cursors. So instead of the usual five cursors (walk, look, interact, talk, inventory-item), it ...

Re: Dagger of Amon Ra play! - Tawmis
Not too proud to say - I am giving up on Heart of China right now. The entire interface is entirely too painful. That's how I felt about the original GK. I wanted to replay it (I almost beat it back in 1993, but my computer crashed and I lost all my saved games) but the interface was just too cumbe...

Re: King's Quest by the Odd Gentlemen (Trailer inside!)
But when my own team started sniping at me over the headphones (I was playing an engie and building dispensers and sentry guns), I was a bit ratted. There were always some people who felt they just had to tell others what to do, how to do it, and where to do it. Unfortunately, the two classes that ...

"Achievement Unlocked - You just happy to see me?" - fitting the super super super sized drink in your pants Reference to the Mae West quote "Is that a pistol in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" from She Done Him Wrong . Is that where that saying comes from? Yeesh. Used it forever and...

Re: Dragon Age: Inquisition (Discussion)
I've read numerous reports (on the BioWare forum) of the Dragon Age Keep failing to properly import your settings. For instance, people with a male Hawke or Warden might find companions referring to him as "her" or "she," thinking Hawke or the Warden was female. The same thing has occurred, but in r...

Re: Speaking of King's Quest and the Odd Gentlemen...
Have any of you seen this? Roberta and Ken Williams are honoured as icons of the games industry. :) I don't want to sound like a jerk, but... that's old news. This was covered and discussed (in detail) in the Sierra Gamers group on Facebook. You might want to join it, as there's a lot of stuff talk...
