Re: The D&D Corner

Wasn't Medusa a gorgon? Wouldn't calling all gorgons by the name of one of them be like calling every vampire a "Dracula"?

Re: Ladies and gentlemen our US... uh... Presidents?

I am one of those people that's horrible in the aspects of numbers in history... for example what year(s) specific wars took place, that DPX mentioned. I definitely fall into that. Okay, but you'd probably have an idea of when certain events took place. Like you'd know which decade World War II was...

Re: Ladies and gentlemen our US... uh... Presidents?

Millennials were born from 81-96, but I’m sure most younger Americans would still be able to recognize them because we’re taught history in school. Yeah, the oldest Millennials are nearing 40 now while the youngest are in their mid-20s. Hardly the high schoolers (or younger) that the media and idio...

Re: Stranger Things 3 (The Game) - Free from Epic.

So the game has proven to be quite fun. However, DPX might get a chuckle out of this thread (since eons ago we discussed "saved vs check point / auto saves"). This game takes the worse elements. First, there is no way to "Save Manually." Second, there's no "Check Point" saves. The game literally, j...

Stranger Things is available on Australian Netflix.
Given Rath's limited Internet bandwidth, I imagine he doesn't have Netflix.

Female Wesley Crusher (now there's a combination of words I never thought I'd write...) looks like Alyssa Milano.

Re: "FINISH HIM!".... Friendship?

... when he throws his hat is on the floor, it reminded me a little of a sombrero (as can be seen here , just at the 0:10 mark). ;) So, I thought - if he did do the Mexican Hat Dance, it'd be even funnier because it'd be so unexpected. :) Now THAT would be funny. Actually, it would've been funny if...

Re: "FINISH HIM!".... Friendship?

Why does Kitana and her opponent look so uncomfortable while hugging? :? Like Tawmis wrote, those two have hated each other since their inception. I think the first game they were in was MK2. I don't understand what that thing is that belongs to Sonya. Sonya Blade is military and has access to all ...

Re: The... evolution?... of game controllers?

Still not as screwed up as the Atari Jaguar controller! Admittedly, some of Atari's ideas for the Jaguar's controller were pretty neat (such as the Intellivision-like card overlays for specific games that went over the lower 12 buttons) but overall, that controller was so unwieldy it's comical. http...

Re: Star Wars / Star Trek Discussion (SciFi In General)

I suppose that in 1985, 30 years in the future looked very, very far away. Thirty years in the future always seems very far away. 2050 is three decades from now, and that seems futuristic. Also... in 2050 I'll be 70 years-old, so that's weird. As of 2020, my Dad isn't even 70 yet (he's 67) so imagi...

Re: Star Wars / Star Trek Discussion (SciFi In General)

Now this looks good! Apparently they're making what appears to be a REAL Star Trek show on the Enterprise (commanded by Captain Pike, who was the best character out of Discovery season 2) called Star Trek: Strange New Worlds . Just looking at the photos you can tell they're going for an updated conc...

Re: Star Wars / Star Trek Discussion (SciFi In General)

How about Back to the Future Part 2? It took place in the "future" of 2015! :D

Something else to think about is in the original BttF, Marty starts in 1985 and then travels 30 years back in time to 1955. If we were to do that today, we'd go from 2020 to 1990. That's just weird to think about.

Re: A new perspective on Science Fiction ...

Well yes, of course sci-fi can be this bad. I agree it depends on the author - some authors produce some marvelous sci-fi. I have sci-fi books by Douglas Adams, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Robert Heinlein - all giants of sci-fi. Yeah... like BBP wrote, 90% of everything is crap. It's true. Soci...
