Re: Your favorite Phantasmagoria and why?
I'm not really desperate to have the game, so it's not a priority for me right now. Plus, I have a number of other games on the go at the moment. It's more one of those things that I might grab if I came across it, but I'm not too worried about it. However, thanks for the help/suggestions. :) I appr...

I think he wanted to show off his timbits.
That story is disturbing...but amusing.

Re: Your favorite Phantasmagoria and why?
I've never played Phatasmagoria. Perhaps it will eventually be available from one of the sites where you can purchase online and download it. I wouldn't mind playing it at some point, but I don't want to spend a lot of money on eBay.

Re: The Beast Within: A DOSBox Installer
I've been thinking about replaying GK2, since I haven't played it for a while. This is great timing, since I'm sure that will make it easier. Awesome!

Re: Mass Effect
Continuing on from here , where the topic got sidetracked to Mass Effect . We bought the boxed PC version of the game. Partly because the price is now pretty reasonable, even with the DRM limitations, and partly because I'm hoping they'll release a patch for it allows you to release licenses of it. ...

Re: JADE EMPIRE.
I completely agree, Tawmis. Jade Empire is a great game. There were tons of characters to talk to, the story was good, there was a solid dose of humour, and I really loved the settings. It was a refreshing change to have a game that was scenic and often outside. I'm sure you'll enjoy the rest of it!

Re: Things That Annoy You!
:D @ Jules. We fooled you! ;) I agree about the cartoons and many things for children. Even toys. Kids aren't as fragile as most people think and letting them see a little action isn't going to hurt them. Exposing them to something like that probably makes them better adjusted as adults. They don't ...

Re: Magda
I don't remember that at all. Of course, it was quite some time ago that I played it. Now I'm curious.
Perhaps they just forgot to record those particular lines when they had the main voice actress in to do the rest originally and had to quickly record them at a later date with someone else?

Re: Drakensang.
Actually, I can pass it up right now, since we just bought Mass Effect.
I can customise like crazy!
You're right though. Considering that's it's release price, that's a pretty good deal. Plus, having lots of NPCs to interact with is always a good thing.

Re: Drakensang.
I was considering it, since I've been craving a fantasy RPG lately and Dragon Age apparently won't be out until the end of the year. Then I heard that you can't customise your character appearance at all, so I'm not so keen on it. I know that probably sounds silly to some people, but if I'm going to...

Re: Things That Annoy You!
The other thing I'm annoyed about is that the girls I work with (everyone in the office, with myself and another guy excluded, is female) tend to gossip from time to time about stuff, or talk about issues in the news. But when they come to see me, it's all business. Hmm. Am I doing something wrong?...

Re: Only Three Games
Given the criteria we have to adhere to, these are not truly my three favourite Sierra games. Of course, sometimes my favourite depends on my mood. My mood is kind of Gothic lately, so I'm going to say: 1. The Beast Within (Werewolves, castles, tragedy, mystery, do I need to say more?) 2. Shadows of...

I remember a reference to Laura Bow when Gabe visits Tulane University. There was a lecture notice on the bulletin board in the classroom with her as the lecturer, I think.

Re: King's Quest vs. Quest for Glory
Although I enjoyed both series a great deal, my favourite is definitely Quest for Glory . Not only did the games have more involvement with other characters consistently, but they allowed for more variable gameplay and had a good combination of drama, humour, and adventure. That's partly due to thei...

Re: Indiana Jones comes to the Wii (among other consoles)
From what I understood in the reviews, the Force Unleashed was less successful on the Wii because of the controls weren't adapted as well as they could have been. Perhaps they felt it was better to focus on one control scheme for the new Indiana Jones game instead of trying to adapt it for multiple ...
