Re: Dragon Age II
I tried to focus on giving her passive abilities that would increase her chance for critical hits in various situations, as well as giving her a small range of combat abilities for different situations. I managed to avoid taking too many talents I didn't want. This is kind of like I wanted to build...

Re: Dragon Age II
A question for you, Maia: I'm planning to play a rogue on my second playthrough. Always using Varric (and sometimes even the Starkhaven prince) I have a good understanding on how Archery works, but, since I never took Isabela with me, I know nothing about the dual-wielding options. Are you liking t...

Re: Dragon Age II
OK, well I can't participate in most of this yet, since I still have to finish Act 1. Too much stuff going on this week and I wanted to wait until my long weekend before getting into the game again, so I could enjoy it properly. I'll just say that I'm liking it so far. The lack of stealth was glari...

Re: Dragon Age: Origins.
Amazing what play throughs bring back... So I have been playing Origins - and just got to the part where Wynne collapses (now either I never saw this in my previous play throughs, or I just don't remember)... Anyway, she talks about how she died in Tower, defending her apprentice... and that there ...

Re: Dragon Age II
What I find funny is that your family changes, if you pick certain presets. I was messing around with the character creator today to get an idea of what I wanted my character to look like, but the preset I started with made my family totally ridiculous! My character looks adopted! http://img859.imag...

Re: Dragon Age II
So basically, I'll still have to waste points in talents I don't want just to get to the higher ones, regardless of their order in the tree. The only improvement I see in this system is that you have a little more choice in which talents to take to get to the higher ones than in DA:O. It still seems...

Re: Dragon Age II
Speaking of dialogue, if you're a female and involved with Alistair, Wynne says some hilarious things to him. :D Back to DA2... I've been looking at the rogue talents to get an idea of what to take. When a talent description says it require a certain amount of points as a prerequisite, what exactly ...

Re: Dragon Age II
Strange, because I have done the Urn, the initial part of the city (name is slipping my mind because I am at work uninstalling McAfee on this guy's machine - and been on this call for over 1.5 hours) - Denerum (sp I am sure) - did the Forest with the Dalish - did Flemeth part, did the Tower, did Ha...

Re: Dragon Age II
Also, I find this post by Gaider really interesting: My impression is that some people miss being able to get all the dialogue at once. I think there's an urge to get an immediate response for interaction-- click-reward-click-reward, etc. --until they feel they've gotten to know the character and t...

Re: Dragon Age II
Speaking of things I miss or that irks me, I hate that now, as a Mage, to cast Group Heal, I have to activated a sustained mode beforehand that doesn't allow me to cast any type of aggressive spell. Since I'm building my character to be a pure caster/damager that stands afar from the heat of combat...

Re: Dragon Age II
As for Stealth, I used it for two things: to sneak behind an opponent and backstab (and this is thus still possible) and to sneak behind a NPC and pickpocket him, and this, unfortunately, is no longer possible. I used stealth mode a lot more than that. I often used it to explore a hostile area, sen...

Re: Dragon Age II
Yes, I was talking about a dedicated stealth mode like DA:O had or pretty much any Fantasy RPG I've played by Bioware. A mode that lets you stay hidden until you deactivate it. From what I understand of the skills (from their description on the Wiki), the stealth is only available for short time dur...

Re: The Hawk.
Wow. What an experience, for both you and the hawk! Lucky that you were able to stop and help it. They are amazing creatures and I'm happy to hear it will be fine.
Thanks for posting the photos, that was very cool to see.

Re: Dragon Age II
I don't have an issue with the proposed combat changes, but I have yet to experience the story or settings, so I can't comment on that. From what little I've seen, the entire game seems kind of rushed and unfinished. We're going to hold onto the game (unopened) and see what happens in the next 30 da...
