Re: Designing Leisure Suit Larry IV or VIII.
Um, that was me who asked that - not Tawm. ;) However, since the coffee hasn't kicked in yet, that's okay... :) Whoops! Sorry about that. I messed up the multi-quote. Hmm... maybe "Leisure Suit Laura" might wear a leisure suit for Hallowe'en or dress-up parties? Not sure. She'd probably be ...

You could also check out "Journey to the West" as a reference point for Chinese folklore. It's the story of the Monkey King and his three companions as they travel across the country and through the afterlife meeting gods, demons, and dragons. Like "Three Kingdoms", it's one of their most famous and...

Re: Designing Quest for Glory VI.
An Asia culture one would be pretty cool, actually! I just don't know enough about the culture that could be used for monsters and the like that our hero would encounter. I'd really like to see a five-game arc takes place across the West Pacific coasts. Start in Australia, move the Hero up through ...

Re: Designing Leisure Suit Larry IV or VIII.
However, I'm not sure that plot will do for LSL4. I can't remember much about LSL5, but weren't Larry and Patti still on speaking terms in that game? IIRC, they were even friends. So... I'm not too sure. I vaguely remember a plot twist in LSL5 that implies Mr. Big was responsible for breaking up La...

Re: Designing Quest for Glory VI.
Hmm... this sounds like it could easily be manipulated by the hero. "Verily, fetch me a pint of beer!" ;) I'd add a patch for that. Not only do they get low EXP for collecting things they don't have to leave town for, but they'll charge you for delivery, get a boost on their intelligence, and event...

Re: Designing Conquest of ________.
You could do a whole series centered around Greece. But I like the idea of going with Sinbad.
I didn't know the name of Sinbad's ship before, but looking it up provides a good title: "Conquests of the Chimera".

Re: Designing King's Quest X.
I'm not sure where to go with a KQ sequel. There issue isn't that there's nowhere to go but that it's too open-ended. I'm stuck on this as well for the same reason. There's a lot of choices for characters, and any installment could take place anywhere. King's Quest was always bigger on family-build...

Re: Designing Quest for Glory VI.
One more thing: Let the game allow you to start your own Adventurer's Guild. If you start in a land without one, one of the townsfolk can let you stay in an abandoned home. And while here, you can build and customize it into the land's first Guild (where you're the first to sign the guestbook with a...

Re: Designing Quest for Glory VI.
Given a big enough budget, I think I'd like to see a QFG6 in the spirit of "Dragon Age" or "The Witcher", where's there both a hard focus on exploration, sidequests, and NPC interaction, but with modern, more manageable combat. And despite QFG5 ending perfectly, I wouldn't mind carrying your choices...

Re: Designing Gabriel Knight 4.
I read somewhere that GK4 was supposed to feature a ghost mystery in Scotland, so I'd just go with that as a starting point. And the game could jump between Gabriel and wherever Grace ran off to (maybe have her solving a mystery in another part of the world that loosely ties into Gabriel's). Would i...

I love the idea of putting it on a train and going full orient Express with it. Laura Bow and confined spaces work great together.
The idea I was kicking around was similar, but took place on a fancy Mississippi riverboat instead.

Re: Designing Space Quest VII.
So in this case - if you were a part of the creative team, what would you hope for in the next SPACE QUEST? I've had my fill of Space Quest fan-fiction, and SQ7 would technically be a story that predates both VSB and SQInc, so forgive me if my idea goes a little off-road. :) My idea is basically "T...

Re: Designing Police Quest V.
I wouldn't mind seeing this in the style of a modern-day L.A. Noire with RPG elements. As said, back to Lytton, no Bains, and with stats that you can build by following proper procedure. Also, real driving where you have to obey road rules (no GTA antics allowed.) I'm a fan of Brooklyn 99, so I'd al...
