Re: Real Myst being removed from GOG
Since I am so far behind in the games I am playing, I will wait till these go on sale. That's been my strategy as well. It's taking so long to get through my backlog, it's not worth grabbing games when they come out. Unless I really, really want to play something (or if I have a physical copy alrea...

Re: My playthrough
Your playthrough sounds so much like mine.
Starting over, the bird problem, the rocks... this seems to be the Lighthouse experience. Just make sure you remembered to grab the clock from the house on your second playthrough. I forgot it on mine and it came back to bite me in the late game.

Re: Designing Freddy Pharkas II
Here's a random idea: Reverse Gold Rush. Freddy and the people of Coarsegold decide they're fed up with the old west (too much horse flatulence?) and want to go back east. From there, the game becomes a parody of "Gold Rush", where Freddy has to find the best route back to Brooklyn. You can go back ...

Re: What are you playing now?
I picked up "Fallout: New Vegas" during the Steam sale. The third game had soured my interest in the series for a while, but so far, I'm pretty happy with the game so far. I enjoy the western theme and its characters, and I like that the game isn't forcing out-of-left-field side-missions on me. It's...

Re: Designing Phantasmagoria III
I did a little googling and found out that "cannibal restaurants" may or may not be a thing in Los Angeles and Berlin. Supposedly, people donate/sell(?) their organs to be eaten by rich people. On the Cannibal Club website, the FAQ has a creepy story about a deceased person bequeathing their body to...

Alexander's slave name was Gwydion, but I hadn't thought about the comparison until now.

Re: Steam and GOG sales
Gee, I don't know. I quite liked Escape's puzzles, but I agree that Monkey Kombat is rather annoying. Everything else is lots of fun, though. :) I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed Monkey Kombat. Something about pulling out a pen & paper to take notes on the pecking order of monkey noises fel...

Re: King's Quest by the Odd Gentlemen or whatever.
So when you're in that area - all you can do is ring the bell (the dragon looks around), or pull the lever. From what I observed - whether the thing you ride is on the ground or at the edge with the meat - the end result is the same. You ride it down - and the dragon looks - you fire an arrow autom...

If this is at the beginning of the game, I remember that you have to lure the dragon away, and then ride another slab of meat down. Can you move around after pulling the lever?

Re: Designing Codename: Iceman II
You wake up alone on a submarine floating aimlessly in the ocean. The only other person in the sub is a guy who likes to play poker and only plays poker. The whole game is about getting to shore, but you don't know where you are, you've never driven a submarine before, and you literally have to run ...

If we go with India and China, we can introduce Tigertaurs in place of Liontaurs.

Re: Designing EcoQuest III
I think an Arctic circle adventure would be a good follow-up. Center the story around global warming, melting ice, the effect its having on the ecosystem... maybe something about oil spills as well. And have Adam go on an adventure with a talking polar bear where he meets lemmings, puffins, narwhals...

ROFLOL! I like that. Maybe they even approach him in a bar and lace his drink (or something) to make him fall asleep/forget his earlier connections with the KGB before kidnapping him to work for them.
