Space Quest V Logo Wallpaper
My 4k/1440p/1080p Space Quest V in-game logo desktop wallpaper recreation is finally finished and I'm happy with it. It comes in two variations: with the comet, and without the comet. Available on my DeviantArt page: https://www.deviantart.com/musicallyinspired/gallery/70666246/space-quest-v-logo-wa...

Re: Steam and GOG sales
Holy snap. I own most of those already on Steam (sans LEGO Batman 2 and 3), I don't like Epic's business strategy, and I don't intend on giving them any money, but I've been getting all their free games since they started. This is the craziest one yet.

Re: What are you playing now?
I've been playing Wolfenstein 3D for quite a while now. Managed to get 100% on every episode and now I'm just trying to shave down my times so that I can get the par time bonuses and try to get the highest score possible. So far Episode 3 seems to be the easiest to do this. E1M1 I was 1 second too s...

Re: Star Wars / Star Trek Discussion (SciFi In General)
Yeah I've been hearing about this for a while and that he said it would be rated R. I'm honestly not that expectant that it'll actually happen. But he really WANTS to do it. Ironically, him being a Star Trek fan, I actually expect more out of him than Abrams or Kurtzman. But it's still not something...

Re: PAX WEST with some familiar faces!
It was great! I have photos but I'll get them up later. I haven't had a proper sleep for the past 5 days literally. And last night my flight was delayed and I got home at 5am only to have to work at 8am. I'm going to be crashing this afternoon hard. But I do have lots of photos. I didn't really talk...

Re: What are you playing now?
I have a couple of Tandy diskette games that I have never been able to access. I would love to be able to at least extract the files from the disks. From trying to image them I just get messages that they are in a Tandy format. Emulators can read them in DSK format. There is also a CoCo emulator ou...

Re: What are you playing now?
Today I was fooling around with a Tandy CoCo3 (Color Computer 3, TRS-80 family computer) emulator. For years and years my dad has owned (and I now still have) the CoCo3 version of King's Quest III but we've never been able to play it. Today I got to play it (though emulated) for the first time. It's...

Re: What are you playing now?
Hmm. Am I right in thinking that a 3D-polygon game is one that uses polyhedra, like cubes and pyramids, to create graphics? Just curious - graphics manipulation isn't my strong point. *smile* Would you call something like "Another World" a 3D-polygon game, then? Polygons are made of triangles. And ...

Re: Question about "The Witcher"...
There are 3 games, actually. 4 if you count the newish digital trading card game too. They were made by CD Projekt Red who also own GOG, so heck yeah they're on their own platform. lol From what I've heard (and played) the first Witcher was a very different type of game before it was overhauled to b...

Re: What are you playing now?
I mean, 1992. That's gotta be one of the first polygon 3D games ever made. I know there were earlier experiments with polygons (untextured or even wireframe), but it feels to me like AITD could have been the "AAA" game changer of its day that pushed that forward. There were no polygons in first pers...

Re: What are you playing now?
It was one of the first games that used the Grim Fandango/Escape From Monkey Island "tank-control" style of 3D. Where the backgrounds are static images, but 3D models move around in the world as if it were fully rendered and then when you walk off screen it switches to a different camera. It was fro...

Re: What are you playing now?
I just started playing the original Alone in the Dark for the first time with my son. Despite the exceedingly aged graphics, it still managed to creep out my son who had trouble watching lol. I have clear memories of playing Alone in the Dark 3 which my dad bought on CD-ROM when it was newer. That w...

Re: Star Wars / Star Trek Discussion (SciFi In General)
This just came up in my Facebook memories today. A thought I had 4 years ago on why early Star Trek is so special. TNG and TOS specifically, as opposed to DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise (and of course Discovery and the new movies). I'm not really expecting this level of storytelling from Star Trek Pic...
