Re: Laura Bow and the Mechanical Codex
I wrote a game in C++ with ASCII graphics called FACEMAN. The goal is to collect all the gems in as few moves as possible. You use the arrow keys but also the standard word processing keys Pgup, Pgdn, Home, End to move to the far edges of the screen instantly. Also 'C' puts you in the center. Simple...

Re: Did anyone else pick up Disney+ Streaming?
That's certainly a lot of content. Content I miss. Enough to turn my head. I may get it eventually. Also, I've heard really good things about The Mandalorian, which even Disney Star Wars dissenters are enjoying quite a bit.

Re: Summer Daze at Hero-U Kickstarter.
Ah yes I guess you have to be a backer. Sorry, I was under the mistaken impression for some reason that anyone could leave general comments, but only backers (people who "backed" the project with a pledge) could comment on campaign updates. Perhaps email Transolar Games then. Or hop on their Discord...

Re: Summer Daze at Hero-U Kickstarter.
That sucks. I haven't even tried the demo myself. Maybe leave a comment on the Kickstarter comments page and they can get you some tips?

Re: Summer Daze at Hero-U Kickstarter.
The Summer Daze Kickstarter just closed a little under an hour ago and we made ~6k over our goal! We were worried there for a while but we made like $14k just yesterday alone and it spiked right up. People really came out to support it and we couldn't be more thrilled! We also made two stretch goals...

Re: DOSBox ECE + Pixel Perfect.
Yeah. I haven't found a good way to resize videos in nearest neighbor. Always puts a bilinear filtering on it. And then converting to x264 from the Zero Motion Block Video codec makes it even worse.

Re: DOSBox ECE + Pixel Perfect.
Screenshots usually don't either in vanilla DOSBox, so that's a bonus itself.

Re: Space Quest 6 Wallpaper
I make them from scratch in Photoshop (and Blender, in SQ2's case).

Space Quest 6 Wallpaper
This Space Quest 6 classic wallpaper was made in 1024x768 and I'm pretty sure it was official. I recreated it from scratch in 4k, 1440p, and 1080p. With and without the subtext. Also added a bit of modern flare and eye candy. Just a tad. With some gradient to the light beams and a bit of glow on the...

Re: "Lady Detective" game... is it... Laura Bow?
Some fear it is a hidden object game. I don't think that it is, though. Apparently it's by a legit developer who's putting together this as a proposal to ActiVision in hopes of getting a license to develop it. I welcome it. Cartoony or no.

Re: The "Too Many Games, Not Enough Time" Problem.
I was talking about games I do have. Games that I've never played. Classic shooters, adventures, RPGs, modern shooters, adventures, RPGs...just never feel like giving them an actual whirl.
And yeah, I can't explain why, but I have a strong compulsion to push people to play Mage's Initiation...
