Re: Speaking of Lighthouse....

Mother Goose... Freddy Pharkas (isn't it?), Gold Mine (I'm sure it is!), the Conquest games...

Neither of the Phantasmagoria, sadly.

Collector, I don't know how you have the time to do what you do, but it's very, very much appreciated.

Good... I mean about your revisiting it, not about the vodka-approach.

Re: Ungodly amount of Quest for Glory V problems....

I've posted the steps you took in Quest for More Glory - perhaps someone there will be able to try them and confirm/deny.

Re: Ungodly amount of Quest for Glory V problems....

Does this actually fix the problem with the gamefreeze at Minos falling? There have been many, many players who have experienced this problem, and we've never, so far as I recall, been able to help them consistently. For some, the problem was solved by turning sound off completely in the setup - but...

Re: Thoughts on classic Sierra games

Torin's Passage - agreed - beyond question. Jules is also amazingly correct when she says "PLAY THE OTHER TWO CHARACTERS". <dangles a large watch in front of Nameless> You are becoming somnolent... your senses are dimming... you can hear me but your ability to resist is gone... Now listen up. You mu...

Re: Thoughts on classic Sierra games

You definitely must play GK2, Nameless - and then GK3.

I wish I could help with your bugged game problem, but you're too far away and I'm not Inspector Gadget. <sigh>

Re: Thoughts on classic Sierra games

Nameless, clearly you missed a LOT in the game.

To find out what you didn't do, and to discover the puns you didn't find in the game, read my walkthrough.

Re: Thoughts on classic Sierra games

Remember that BEARS ARE EVIL. If you see a bear, you MUST kill it.

Foxes, too, are dreadful and horrible creatures. If by chance you come across a fox in QfG, destroy it and free the land of the ghastly influence of the disease-ridden fox.

Re: Thoughts on classic Sierra games

Yes, try Quest for Glory next! And when you do, remember you really need to step into the fairy ring at night, or else you'll never get fit.

Re: FreeSCI and ScummVM

It's promising news, anyway - slow though the project may be, and laughable though the prospect of completion might be. <nod>

Thanks for letting us know, Collector.

Re: Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers DOSBox Guide

That is so easy to follow that even those who are almost computer-illiterate will be able to take those steps.
