Re: Backing Up Question
Do not buy WESTERN DIGITAL for your external hard drive. I'd go with Maxtor. Just look at the thread on tawmis.com about my WD 500GB drive crashing. Even if you get an external - back stuff up to CDs or DVDs (I'd recommend a DVD burner, it will be worth it in the end). Make MULTIPLE copies, all the...

Re: Backing Up Question
Did you click on "safely remove hardware" on the taskbar? If not, that may be a reason why this occurred. Using the "safely remove hardware" function, you allow the USB key (or flash drive, whichever you prefer) to disconnect properly. If you merely yank it out, you could possibly lose or corrupt t...

Re: Backing Up Question
Then there's the option of buying a new computer since it runs veerrry slow. I've had mixed luck with flash drives. One became worthless after finding out that wiggling it out of the computer made the insides loose which made all of my files on the drive magically disappear. So, I don't trust them v...

Backing Up Question
My trusty old computer finally told me it's filled to the brim and that I need to delete... "stuff". But, I am at a standstill, not knowing which route to take. Some of my photos and videos are up in the GB's and I don't have a DVD burner. Should I get an external hard drive? Should I add two more s...

Re: What's your favourite food?
Mmm olives, yes. Olives and GOOD cheese. Fruit. I could live off of it. Bananas, strawberries, apples, peaches, BERRIES! Any kind of berry: mullberry, blueberry, red raspberry, blackberry, black raspberry, wineberry, dewberries. Bread! Especially home made bread. Proudness can't be tasted but I swea...

Re: Hero Machine - Sierra Characters
Great characters, DPX! My favorite is the Hero. I haven't tried it but it would be fun if they had a short, beer gut option for Larry. But, perhaps that's what his true 'inner' hero is like.

Re: Christmas and New Year's Eve
Playing White Elephant, a gift swap game. This time instead of buying a gift that nobody else wants, we're bringing an object from home. It can either be a funny gift or something you'd think your relatives would fight over, in a fun way of course. :) Last year, we ended up with the same gift we bro...

Have you been watching Heroes ? :P No, but I did watch an episode of House last night. :D Ability to grin widely showing lots of teeth: 100  He must be related to the cheshire cat. Rath, this has worked for me in the past for remembering dreams. Keep a small notpad by your bed with a pencil an...

Re: Weird Dreams
I just had one the other night. I was reading an article about memory in the National Geographic magazine. That night I had a dream about doing surgery on someone by taking parts of their brains out of their ears, "fixing" the part of the brain, and replacing it! Talk about Sci-Fi.. and I hardly wat...

Re: Where in the world...
Well, you could generalize and include everything:
1. The Americas
2. Africa
3. Europe
4. Asia
5. Australia
Personally, in no specific order:
1. Alaska
2. Holland/Germany (my roots)
3. Ireland
4. Switzerland
5. Austria
Every other country is fighting for those top five.

Too bad my lunch break is almost over. I will have to read the rest later. It is hilariously funny so far.
