TF2 isn't at all close to being an MMO.
Also, I entirely disagree with the notion that the main appeal of MMOs for any significant number of people is bragging. It's also nothing unique to MMOs. Every game will have people who are better at it than others and will want to brag about that.

Re: King's Quest by the Odd Gentlemen (Trailer inside!)
It's easy to look at the trailer and say that it's not a real KQ game. I wonder, though: would it actually be possible for there to be a game that doesn't elicit that reaction? A game that anyone could look at and would conclude that it's definitely a real KQ game? I suspect the answer is actually "...

Re: Gabriel Knight - Where Am I From? Screen Capture Game.
Given that it's a textured 3D model, it would have to be GK3, but I don't know where in the game it is.

Re: Steam Question...
Rath had already said that he'd found and unchecked the option. Even single player games need to be updated in order to launch, assuming Steam knows that there's an update required. If you always run in offline mode, however, you might be able to avoid updating them. I'm always online in Steam, thou...

Re: Steam Question...
What a free weekend means is that it automatically gets added to everyone's library (and then removed again when the weekend is over). It won't install anything unless you tell it to. If you don't like seeing it in your library, you could: Not look at your library. Wait until the weekend is over. Se...

The bundle I linked is equivalent to 80% off, if you only buy it for QfI. Steam and DRM-free download.

It has now been bundled, so I bought it. Haven't played yet, though.

Re: Steam Question...
I don't think it's possible to opt out of client updates.
From what I understand, he has the update from November 12, while I have the one from November 19. The change there is a very minor one. Certainly not something as big as adding that checkbox.

Re: Steam Question...
Your client is slightly out of date (right now, I have Steam package versions 1416350232. Select "Check For Steam Client Updates..." from the Steam menu. It's not a recent change, though, so that shouldn't matter. I'm puzzled why that option wouldn't be there. Can you post a screenshot of the interf...

Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
Okay, I checked. My unpatched game doesn't have the problem. The zombies would just be in front of the tree there. In the patched game, they'll sometimes flicker and sometimes blatantly go through the tree (visually) when they're walking around south of it. I'm guessing it has something to do with t...

Re: Non-Sierra Installers and Patches
I decided to just play through the rest, anyways, and did so successfully. The only other glitch I noticed is that a zombie on the south edge of the west graveyard screen would flicker when going past the big tree (as if it's sometimes behind the tree?). I don't know if that could also happen in the...

Re: Steam Question...
Under the Steam settings, in the Interface tab, there's a "Run Steam when my computer starts" option. Uncheck that.
