Re: Running QFG1 VGA for the first time or not.
Tawm, no, the ".P*" resource files are found on the SCI1+ installation disks and need to be concatenated into one large .000 file. This is the point that the games are no longer playable from the diskettes. The installer expects those files to create the one large resource. The size of the resulting...

Re: Running QFG1 VGA for the first time or not.
I am not seeing anything missing. What is the size of the "RESOURCE.000"?

Re: Running QFG1 VGA for the first time or not.
It sounds like the game is hanging on start. Run the diagnostic and attach the log in this thread.

Re: The Failed Sierra Adventure Games!
Not just their first game, but THE very first graphical adventure ever. It is the game that founded Sierra. A bit surprising that a Sierra fan does not know of it.Tawmis wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 12:54 pmMore like their first game. Ever. By Roberta and Ken.

Re: What are you playing now?
I have a couple of Tandy diskette games that I have never been able to access. I would love to be able to at least extract the files from the disks. From trying to image them I just get messages that they are in a Tandy format.

Re: What are you playing now?
So the information about I, Robot was doubly wrong if not more. This is the problem when looking for the first release of some feature. I have seen similar claims about the first VGA game that were provably wrong, for example. Again Dynamix and Damon Slye is among the contenders.

Re: What are you playing now?
You are missing even earlier games. Damon Slye's 1983 "Stellar 7" used 3space, one of the very first 3-D game engines. It predates "Another World" by nearly a decade. Dynamix used that engine right up to the VGA era and beyond. It was the engine used for all of the Red Baron games, BaK, MoE, etc.

Re: Star Wars / Star Trek Discussion (SciFi In General)
I remember that "All Good Things" scene with Picard and Q very well. It becomes even more significant when you realize that the entire series is bracketed by the Q. This at the end and from the start with an exchange between Q and Riker in season one's "Hide and Q" that explains the continuum's obse...

Of the new ones you are not far off. Then again, they don't know how to write for real Trek.

I am with you. I am cautiously optimistic, but I will have to see it first.
