Re: My Phantasmagoria playthrough

I also don't get the audio popping that I've experienced in the past with setting the cycles to max. Yeah, I fixed/improved that with the help of BBP and others a while ago. It seemed to happen exclusively on windows 7. So I guess you are on that. I noticed that you have prebuffer at 20, I have cha...

Re: My Phantasmagoria playthrough

So I ended up setting cycles to max in DOSBox and that seems to at least mitigate the issue. Before the sound would drop out almost every other scene in a conversation. Now I can sometimes make it through without it dropping out at all, though it still crops up every once in a while. I also don't ge...

Re: My Phantasmagoria playthrough

loosing audio ? Mmmm interesting. I have been debugging LSL 7 a lot trying to figure out why it looses audio randomly entering a room. I think it happens less often with a fixed cycle count, but haven't been able to find a cause yet. (even going back to using 0.74 code mixed in with the current cod...

Re: SpaceQuest.Net BACK!

Not sarcasm, but a joke. What notbobsmith did was observe that the typo resulted in a legitimate French word (-ez is used in a second-person plural conjugations) and jokingly comment on that observation. As you yourself noted, just having one french word (and one that grammatically doesn't fit) in ...

Re: My Phantasmagoria playthrough

Been having the same issue every once in a while, but it would only happen once and I couldn't get it to repeat after multiple restores. It happens more consistently in the general store (Chapter 2). I've had the audio drop either after just entering the store, but more often when I talk to the man....

Re: My Phantasmagoria playthrough

I already moved past that point and the game only keeps a single save file. I *think* it might be because I had the number of cycles too high in DOSBox. I had it at 50k before and then dropped it to 25k and the scene played fine. But then I encountered a similar issue with the dog in front of the ho...

My Phantasmagoria playthrough

Just started on my playthrough. I ran into a little glitch, however. When I speak to the realtor in the first chapter, the voices cut out intermittently. For example, when I first enter the building, there's no audio. I restore the game, and then the audio is just fine until a little later when the ...

Re: Choose my next adventure

Thank you all for the suggestions. So it looks like I have 2 for Phantasmagoria, 1 for Lighthouse, and 1 for the Conquest games. So Phantasmagoria it is. '90s FMV goodness. :) And I am aware of the disturbing scene. I know a little bit about it, but have never played it. And for the record, I'm will...

you found it). So I think the lie if you heard it, was to imply the suspect who lied is indeed the murderer. Other notes: I felt a little bit hobbled by problems with saving and restoring. I only used a few locations that I knew were "safe" to save, like the hall with The Thinker. Otherwise I riske...

Re: Choose my next adventure

It's that time again. Let me know which game I should play next: The Adventures of Willy Beamish The Black Cauldron Conquests of Camelot Conquests of the Longbow Heart of China Lighthouse Phantasmagoria Phantasmagoria 2 Added Lighthouse to the list when I got it from GOG recently. I don't know much ...

Re: Laura Bow II - Detailed Plot Summary (Spoilers)

Just found this thread. I guess this is the most plausible explanation for everything, but it still has a few holes. For one, Tut Smith discovering Carter's body. There's no good explanation for the loss of the ankh, but why would Smith show up for his 10:15 appointment if he already knew Carter was...

Re: Dagger of Amon Ra playthrough

Just finished my second playthrough with a walkthrough. I'm pretty sure I got everything this time according to the walkthrough that I used. I ended Act 5 with a "So far so good. Keep it up." but I'm not sure if that's the best possible ending. LB1's breakdown at the end made that more clear. I stil...

Re: RAMA no cd for DOSBox?

Sadly, Lighthouse the Dark being was just released by gog, and i bet they used the iso change of DOSBox, not the merge capability of unisci for it (like all other sierra gog releases). Maybe they'll update it and RAMA (if it gets released meanwhile) if the tool gets updated soon enough so that scum...
